February Reads

It's February and I have already finished reading six books! Today, I am going to tell you a little bit about each one of these great books which you could possibly add to your own reading lists.  Get Even by Gretchen McNeil Get Even is about a secret group of girls called Don't Get Mad who take revenge on the bullies at their elite private school. One of their targets is killed and is found with a DGM card in his hands so the girls realize they are not as anonymous as they thought they were and someone wants revenge on them. Pick up this book if you like mysteries. Staying Strong by Lauren Yeates It is very important to look after our mental health, especially during hard times like going through the pandemic. Staying Strong: Finding Inner Peace During Hard Times provides a lot of tips for taking care of ourselves, such as writing a to-do list and putting time into self care. It also includes a 30-day happiness challenge, which I will be doing soon. This is a book I think every...

Jugpreet Bajwa's New Songs

Hello everyone! Last November, I introduced you to an amazing singer named Jugpreet Bajwa and today I want to share the three new songs he has released since then. Meri  Zindagi Ka Khwaab was released in December. I have no idea what the lyrics are saying but it sounds so good and the music video shows beautiful sights in Vancouver, Canada. It makes me want to travel there one day and Jugpreet looks great in it! Watch it here  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZC2P6H69Ks This year started with Tim Tim Tara, with a beautiful song about serving people less fortunate than ourselves and making our limitations become our strength. Jugpreet dedicated it to Baghat Puran Singh, who was an Indian writer and philanthropist. The video is just as heartwarming as the song. The images of beautiful and strong people smiling, dancing and just enjoying life is sure to put a smile on your face. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRNr51b0W2A Jugpreet's latest song came out on Monday. It is called T...

Books for young readers

I have enjoyed reading since I was a child and today I am sharing a few of my favorite books from childhood.  Any book by British author Roald Dahl is good. My personal favorites are Charlie & the Chocolate Factory and Matilda. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory follows the adventures of an eleven-year-old boy named Charlie Bucket who gets the chance to tour Willy Wonka's chocolate factory.  Matilda is the story of Matilda Wormwood, a highly intelligent girl who is emotionally abused and ignored by her parents. They refuse to acknowledge her abilities so she pulls pranks on them to avoid getting frustrated. She befriends her school teacher and watches the very strict principal terrorises the students.   The Babysitters club series by Ann M. Martin is a series about a group of friends - Kristy, Marry Anne, Claudia and Stacey - who run a baby-sitting service in the fictional town of Stoneybrook Connecticut.  English author Enid Blyton has a lot of books which...

Kate Middleton Facts

In honor of Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge's 40th birthday which was a few weeks ago, I am sharing some less known facts about her. Kate Middleton modeled for catalogs by Party Pieces, which is her parents party supplies company.  Kate is a huge fan of TV shows including Homeland, Downtown Abbey  and Game of Thrones. Royals don't take paid jobs but one day in 2016, the Duchess worked as the editor of Huffington Post UK for a day. She edited the website and also published her own blog post titled, "Let's Make a Real Difference for an Entire Generation of Young Children." Just like the rest of us, Kate had crushes when she was a teenager. In her engagement interview in 2010, she revealed that she had a poster of a Levi's model on her bedroom wall. Kate dated Prince William for five years before being officially introduced to the Queen. William introduced his girlfriend to his grandmother in 2003 at his 21st birthday party.  When Kate was a child, she actually me...

Inspiring Photographers 2

Four years ago, I wrote a blog post about my interest and experiences in photography and a few of my favorite photographers. Now, I still have that same keen interest and in this post, I am going to tell you about three more photographers I am inspired by.  Kate Jensen - I just found Kate on Instagram in December. She does boudoir and lifestyle photography. and has taken the most amazing photos of couples and families. My favorites are the set of an engaged couple dressed in white posted last September. You can really see the love between them through the photos Kate captured and I just have to say that the young woman in the photo is so beautiful and I love her dress! I love all the photos Kate has posted. The locations, the outfits....Everything is just perfect!  Instagram: @katejensenphotography_ Dawson Atamanchuk - Dawson is an awesome lifestyle photographer from Saskatchewan. His photos of families and weddings are stunning! Dawson has also taken some great lifestyle sho...

Christmas Movies

Picture from FirstCry Parenting Hello everyone! There are only five more days till Christmas. How exciting is that! Netflix has so many great Christmas movies to watch and in this post, I am going to tell you about four movies I have watched recently.  Deck The Halls Deck The Halls is a 2006 film starring Danny DeVito, Matthew Broderick, Kristin Davis and Kristin Chenoweth. It is about two men, Steve and Buddy, who are neighbors trying to outdo each other in decorating their houses for Christmas. Buddy wants his house to be seen from space, so he decorates his house extravagantly, which causes a conflict with Steve.  Holiday in the Wild Kristin Davis stars in this film as Kate, who embarks on a solo trip to Africa after her husband ends their marriage. When she is there, she and a pilot named Derek rescue a baby elephant. While she is looking after it, she realizes how much she loves the place.  The Claus Family A boy named Jules hates Christmas, but after he disco...
