Image
Image from Stian Jebsen Stian Jebsen is a Norwegian singer, songwriter, actor, and live streamer based in London.  Last Friday, he released his first song, 'Four and a Half', on music streaming services.  As someone who has been following Stian on social media for over a year now, I was so excited for this, and I'm so happy for him! The song is incredible. On my recent trip to England, I had the chance to watch him busk in Covent Garden, and he sounds absolutely amazing in person.  Please check him out on social media and listen to the song on Spotify or wherever you get your music.  Instagram: @stianjebsen TikTok: @stiansings

Reflective Essay - Michael

Image
I’ve been a huge fan of the Jackson Five, Michael Jackson, and the entire Jackson family for as long as I can remember. Their music has been woven through my childhood, my teens, and my adult life. I was twenty when Michael passed in 2009, and like so many others, I still remember exactly where I was when the news broke. I watched every tribute, interview, documentary, and the public memorial. I’ve listened to their music, watched their reality shows, and read their books. So walking into the cinema to watch Michael wasn’t just going to see a movie. It felt like returning to a story I’ve carried with me almost my whole life. I saw the film on the Saturday of the ANZAC Day long weekend. The shopping centre wasclosed except for the cinema, which gave the whole morning a calm, almost sacred feeling. I was the first person to walk into VMax Cinema 1. Originally, I had booked my usual back‑row seat, but while waiting outside, something made me change my mind. I wanted to be closer. I ...

World Premiere of Michael

Image
Official Poster The world premiere of the Michael biopic was held in Berlin, Germany on Friday. Thousands of Michael Jackson fans attended, dressed in outfits inspired by the legendary King of Pop's famous looks. Jaafar Jackson, who plays his uncle Michael in the movie, walked along the red carpet with his co-stars Colman Domingo, Nia Long and Juliano Valdi, and some of his family members including his father Jermaine, uncles Jackie and Marlon, Brothers Jermajesty and Randy Jackson Jr., cousins Prince and Bigi Jackson, and Fiancée Maddie Simpson. They all posed for photos and gave interviews to the media along the red carpet. Jaafar said he watched YouTube videos, archived footage and drew on his own memories to prepare for the role.  "One of my favourites is when I first saw him on stage performing in New York for the first time which was the best experience for me," he told Reuters.  Jackie Jackson, who was a part of the Jackson Five and also pursued his own solo music ...

Shen Yun

Image
I immersed myself in some Chinese culture on Friday night when I attended the show by Shen Yun at the Sydney Lyric Theatre.  Shen Yun is a non-profit performing arts company based in New York. It was established in 2006, and their mission is to revive traditional Chinese culture and showcase classical Chinese dance and music. They perform in major venues al over the world.  The artists have many years of experience, having studied dance and music, and graduated from various schools, competed at competitions and performed on many stages.  Two hosts welcomed everyone and introduced each section in both English and Chinese, which I think was helpful because we could all understand what the stories were about. They didn't just tell the story, they used some humour too, which made it even more interesting.  The show was divided into eighteen different sections, which tell the story of China's five thousand years of civilisation. As soon as the curtain opened, I said quiet...

Digitise Your Tapes and CDs

Image
VHS video tapes, CDs and even printed photos weren't designed to last forever. VHS tapes can lose picture quality and eventually become unplayable. CDs can scratch, suffer from disc rot, and suddenly stop working. Photo albums can cause photos to stick to pages and tear when removed. Digitizing them keeps them safe, organised, and easy to back up for the future. You can then play them on your Computer, phone, and TV.

Jaafar Jackson As Michael

Image
The highly anticipated Michael biopic will be in theatres this April, and as a huge fan of the Jacksons, I am so excited, just like fans all around the world. Jaafar Jackson, the nephew of Michael Jackson, plays him in the movie, and here I'm going to share my thoughts on why he is the best person for the role.  Image: Lionsgate Movies YouTube First, here's a little introduction to Jaafar. He was born on 25th July 1996 to Jermaine Jackson and Alejandra Oaziaza in Los Angeles. He is a singer and dancer and released his debut singer 'Got Me Sing' in 2019, another single 'Confused' in 2020, and featured on Tito Jackson's song ' Love One Another' in 2021. The music video for Got Me singing was filmed in Brazil.  I downloaded Jaafar's first single as soon as it was released and stayed up late watching a livestream when he was at an event in LA.  I've always believed he has something special, and seeing him star as his uncle feels so right. There ...

Inspired By Jugpreet Bajwa

Image
Jugpreet Bajwa released his song "Inspired" in January, and here are my thoughts on it.  Instagram @jugpreetbajwa Very few songs speak to me the way Inspired does. The song is about resilience, self-belief and owning your journey. It’s a reminder to keep going, even when life feels impossibly heavy. With its raw emotion and powerful lyrics, the song shines a light on mental health, showing us that setbacks and struggles do happen, but they don’t have to end our dreams. They are moments which show us what we are capable of. We are not defined by our mistakes and setbacks. Knowing Jugpreet’s story makes it even more powerful. He lost his eyesight due to cancer when he was barely 6 months old, but he never let it stop him from achieving his goals. He has been performing since he was six years old and has performed in over 1000 shows. He believes in himself, and it shines through in every single on of his performances. He is not just singing about resilience, he is living it. ...

Time To Break Away

Image
In 2018, I introduced you all to an incredible singer from St Lucia, D.B.L, who I found while scrolling through Instagram. I have quietly kept up with all his news, he has done so many amazing things. In October 2025, D.B.L released a single called Time To Break Away and, in this post, I am going to share my thoughts on the song and video with you.  Time To Break Away by D.B.L Image from Genius Time To Break Away explores the themes of rebellion, overcoming struggle and escaping negativity and talks about serious conflict we see happening in the world. Listening to the lyrics makes me feel emotional, and I think everyone who listens to it will feel something.  "You have to go to sleep with one eye open The rebel’s on the prowl to search for victim You got to know the rules or else it’s the end Now look at what’s around you all the bloodshed The propaganda spread the lies that dem spread The bigotry deceit to hide the problem Hypocrisy me me can’t understand I think about the c...

Live Like Tomorrow Isn't Promised

Live Like Tomorrow Isn’t Promised We make so many plans. For the weekend. For next year. For someday. But the truth is – someday isn’t guaranteed. Tomorrow might not come the way we expect it to. Life can change in an instant. So why wait?   Tell people you love them. Now, not later. Contact that person you’ve been thinking about but haven’t spoken to in a long time. No matter how busy you are, make time to see your loved ones. Dance when you hear music playing. Go on that trip you’ve been planning. Take photos. Record videos. Write down memories. Say yes to the party. Wear the outfit. Speak up, even when your voice shakes. Make the changes you want and start the thing you’ve been dreaming about.   We wait to feel ready or for the perfect moment but there’s no such thing. You have to make every moment count, even the messy ones. Don’t let fear or comfort zones or people’s opinions hold you back. There is so much beauty waiting beyond routine and you owe it to yourself...

Welcome back Justice Crew!

Image
Photo credit to @Justicecrewofficial Instagram Justice Crew are a dance and music group who won Australia's Got Talent in 2010 and went on to release many amazing songs including number one hits Boom Boom and Que Sera . After their tour in 2019, they took a long break and now they are back!  I have been a huge fan of them since the beginning and have been to a lot of their shows, so when they announced they were performing a show in February, of course I was excited and attended with my friend. There was a huge crowd there to see them, which surprised a few people, including maybe the guys themselves. After six years, they probably felt rusty, but they were actually amazing as always. It was so cool to see them on stage again and here all the hit songs the number ones and  Everybody. It's so crazy how even now, after six year...

Light in the Darkness

Image
We all carry a little darkness. Moments we don’t speak of. Storms We face. Shadows we walk through quietly.   But that doesn’t mean our light is gone.   Even on heavy days, when it feels like someone has punched us in the chest, or everything feels hopeless. We work. We care. We laugh. We create. We shine, like the brightest star in the sky.   No matter what happens today – even if it’s messy, or lonely, or full of tears - The sun will rise in the morning. Like it always does. Like we always do.   Because light doesn’t have to shout. Sometimes it just keeps showing up, quietly. One bright beam at a time.

The Prove It Game

Image
The public opinions on Meghan Markle, or Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are divided. Some love her and most seem to hate her. I admire her in some ways. I just watched an interview she did with podcast host Jamie Kern Lima and something she said resonated with me.  Image from Jamie Kern Lima YouTube.  Here it is: "We spend so much of our lives trying to prove something. You have to prove that you're enough, you have to prove that you're pretty enough, you have to prove that you're smart enough, you have to prove that you're a good wife or a good friend, and I am just so done with the prove it game. When you get to the place where you feel like I don't have to prove anything to you anymore. I don't have to prove that I'm a good person, I don't have to prove that I'm a good wife or mum or friend, I don't have to prove that I work hard. It can be really freeing when you stop playing the prove it game." - Meghan Markle. I completely agree with...

Harry and Meghan

Image
Photo from Fox News Last week, Prince Harry lost his appeal to restore his UK government-funded security detail and I have a lot of thoughts on him, Meghan and everything that has happened since they stepped away from royal life in 2020.  Since Meghan came onto the scene and married Harry, she has received a significant amount of criticism from the media and people all over the world. The scrutiny is often attributed to her identity as biracial, a media personality, and feminist stance with some saying she is unsuitable for the monarchy. I actually feel sorry for her. Every royal, celebrity and person in the public eye is constantly scrutinized, but it seems to go too far with Meghan. With an American father and an African-American mother, she is biracial. How can anyone hate on her for that? The people who hate her for that are racist! Meghan Markle was an actress, best known for her role as Rachel Zane in the legal drama, suits. Every Royal who married into a royal family had a r...

Virtual Stop #1: Lymington - A Seaside Gem Discovered by Chance

Image
Welcome to my virtual travel series, where I explore beautiful corners of the world without leaving my bed. Inspired by TikTok livestreamers and walking tour videos, these posts capture what I see, feel and learn as I journey through new places from afar.  I wasn't planning to visit Lymington - not virtually, not in any way. I had never heard of it before watching my favorite singing buskers livestream from the quaint little town in the UK and now I'm captivated. The charm of Lymington unfolded before my eyes: Cobbled pathways, rows of boats bobbing gently at the marina and friendly locals to stop and enjoy the music. I experienced it from my bed.  There is something so welcoming about the town, The people passing by weren't just polite - they were supportive. Some clapped, others left kind words or a few coins, and a few even stayed for songs. There are three ladies who go often to support the guys. They have all been following them on TikTok for a while and met each other...

From my bed in Australia to the Streets of the UK: Virtual Travel Through TikTok and YouTube

Image
Most people think travel requires a passport, packed bags, and a boarding pass. But recently, I’ve discovered another kind of journey – one that begins with my phone, a pair of headphones, and a quiet night in bed. Thanks to two talented UK-based buskers who livestream their music nearly every day, I’ve found myself wandering through towns I’ve never been to, soaking in accents, street scenes, and little cultural traditions and quirks that make the world feel both bigger and more connected. This post is the beginning of a new kind of travel diary, one where music leads the way, and the destinations come alive through the screen. It started with curiosity – just a scroll through TikTok late one night – when I stumbled upon two singer brothers busking on a street somewhere in the UK. Their voices stopped me in my tracks. The beautiful sounds of classical and opera style music pulled me in. Before I knew it, I was watching night after night and staying awake past midnight, not wan...

Signs You Need A Social Media Break

Image
Social media is great for connecting with family, friends and other people, keeping up to date with world news, finding entertainment and engaging in activities like shopping and livestreaming, but it can also cause stress, anxiety and overstimulation. Here I am going to share some signs you need a break from social media. 1.     We mindlessly scroll sometimes and if you end up on social media without even realizing it, you are to absorbed in it.       2.  Always being online is a big sign you need a break.      3.  You can't stop comparing yourself to others. Everyone always posts their happy times and moments   of success and seeing all that can cause a lot of anxiety, especially for someone who may not be doing so well, or even someone who is doing well may look at those posts and feel they are lacking something in their own life.       4. Social media can bring on the fear of missing out (FOMO),...

Kourtney Kardashian Addresses Rumors

Image
Rumors have been swirling that 15-year-old Mason Disick has a baby and now his mother Kourtney Kardashian has addressed it.  Image from Yahoo The reality star issued a statement on Instagram to shut down the viral rumors.  "I rarely address rumors or conspiracies regarding myself or my family  but this is about my child and it feels wrong to let anyone think for a second that these lies are remotely true. Mason does not have a child," she wrote on her Instagram Story.  These accounts that pretend to be him are definitely not. They are FAKE. My son really values his privacy, and I am asking all media to please be respectful. He is a kid with feelings and a beautiful life ahead of him. Please stop spreading false narratives and spinning lies. And to all the people making videos about my kids (who, by the way are minors), please stop and leave them alone." Mason has pulled back from the public in recent years and no longer appears in the Kardashians reality show, but he...

The Dark Side Of TikTok

Image
TikTok has taken the world by storm over the last few years. The app allows users to create, watch and share short videos set to music and sound effects using their mobile phones. So many people have gained followers and made a career out of creating content on it, but behind the viral trends, dances, amazing and sometimes quirky videos, and inspiring content, a dark side has emerged. Scammers are everywhere and there are a group of individuals who use TikTok’s live streaming feature to hurt others, and you need to be aware of what to look out for to be safe. These individuals seem like every other content creator and streamer on the app. They post videos, comment on others, go live on their own, join other people’s lives and interact with the creators and commentors but unbeknownst to the people in those lives, the individuals are looking for their victim. Once someone sends them a huge gift and helps them win a battle, they have found who they are looking for. Their main victims ...
