Introducing Justin Wack

One night I was browsing YouTube and came across an amazing song by a singer I had never heard of before. The song is called Can't Beat Love and it is by Justin Wack. I had to know who this guy is so I did some research and what I found is incredible! Today, I am introducing Justin Wack to you and sharing a few facts about him.

  • Justin is a 20-year-old artist, song writer and producer from Canada.
  • He was born completely blind.
  • He started music lessons when he was a toddler and he learned he has perfect pitch, which is a rare ability to identify or re-create a given musical note without a reference tone.
  • Justin decided to make a career out of music in 2017.
  • Makes his own beats, writes songs and sings and composes all the music on his laptop.
  • In addition to music, Justin is into sports.
  • He has done rock climbing and judo and played ice hockey.
  • He has competed internationally in Judo, in America and Germany, and won bronze and silver medals at competitions.
  • For ice hockey, Justin plays in the position of goaltender.
  • In 2017 he won a Great Kids Award, which recognizes young people who make extraordinary contributions to their community in challenging circumstances.
  • He has a beautiful dog.
Justin has six songs out, which can be heard on both Spotify and YouTube. He sings about nice things like love and dreams . His voice is absolutely amazing and I feel like he has a unique sound.
All the songs have been composed, produced and performed so beautifully and if he keeps making music like this, I believe he will have a long, successful career in the music industry! If Justin was in Australia and ever did a performance somewhere, I would definitely go watch and support him. I want to know what he sounds like live. I honestly feel so calm whenever I listen to his music.

Spotify: Justin Wack

Last week I watched this video of a presentation he did in 2018. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oelhgi-BcME It was interesting to learn about new technology and see how he works and makes his music. He is so articulate.

It seems like Justin has been through a lot in his life but he doesn't let his blindness or anything stop him from doing and achieving what he wants. Just from reading about him and listening to his music, I can tell he is confident and passionate and he has a heart of gold. He is sending out good vibes and positivity to the world through his music and living life to its fullest.

I am so glad I clicked on the Can't Beat Love video that night and found this talented artist. You've got a fan in me, Justin, and I look forward to hearing more music from you!

Light in the Darkness

We all carry a little darkness. Moments we don’t speak of. Storms We face. Shadows we walk through quietly.   But that doesn’t mean our light is gone.   Even on heavy days, when it feels like someone has punched us in the chest, or everything feels hopeless. We work. We care. We laugh. We create. We shine, like the brightest star in the sky.   No matter what happens today – even if it’s messy, or lonely, or full of tears - The sun will rise in the morning. Like it always does. Like we always do.   Because light doesn’t have to shout. Sometimes it just keeps showing up, quietly. One bright beam at a time.

Virtual Stop #1: Lymington - A Seaside Gem Discovered by Chance

Welcome to my virtual travel series, where I explore beautiful corners of the world without leaving my bed. Inspired by TikTok livestreamers and walking tour videos, these posts capture what I see, feel and learn as I journey through new places from afar.  I wasn't planning to visit Lymington - not virtually, not in any way. I had never heard of it before watching my favorite singing buskers livestream from the quaint little town in the UK and now I'm captivated. The charm of Lymington unfolded before my eyes: Cobbled pathways, rows of boats bobbing gently at the marina and friendly locals to stop and enjoy the music. I experienced it from my bed.  There is something so welcoming about the town, The people passing by weren't just polite - they were supportive. Some clapped, others left kind words or a few coins, and a few even stayed for songs. There are three ladies who go often to support the guys. They have all been following them on TikTok for a while and met each other...

The Prove It Game

The public opinions on Meghan Markle, or Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are divided. Some love her and most seem to hate her. I admire her in some ways. I just watched an interview she did with podcast host Jamie Kern Lima and something she said resonated with me.  Image from Jamie Kern Lima YouTube.  Here it is: "We spend so much of our lives trying to prove something. You have to prove that you're enough, you have to prove that you're pretty enough, you have to prove that you're smart enough, you have to prove that you're a good wife or a good friend, and I am just so done with the prove it game. When you get to the place where you feel like I don't have to prove anything to you anymore. I don't have to prove that I'm a good person, I don't have to prove that I'm a good wife or mum or friend, I don't have to prove that I work hard. It can be really freeing when you stop playing the prove it game." - Meghan Markle. I completely agree with...
