Auditions Gone Wrong

Every year thousands of people hoping for a career in the entertainment industry audition for talent shows such as American Idol, Got Talent and The Voice. Many of the winners and past contestants from these shows have actually been successful and are known in their home countries and even all over the world but there are some past contestants who are known for their auditions going wrong.

In this post, I am sharing some auditions which featured some rude and funny people and did not go according to plan. I'm also sharing some videos where contestants were eventually successful after a rocky start.

Triple Trouble - Gemma, George and Maria auditioned for The X Factor UK saying that they wanted to spread the message that not all teenagers are violent, do drugs or behave badly which is a great message but their performace singing Umbrella by Rihanna was terrible and George spoke horribly to Simon, told the audience to "shut up" and threw his microphone down.

George Gerasimou - Two years after Triple Trouble's failed audition, George returned for another go on The X Factor. This time, there was a new judging panel but one judge, Tulisa, knew who he was and told the others, Louis Walsh, Kelly Rowland and Garry Barlow "he's the one who slammed the mic down and told Simon to shut up." George said he had matured and his singing had improved but this audition did not go any better. His singing had not improved and his attitude was the same.

Ariel Burdett - This audition was strange. Ariel walked into the room saying "I am not a number, I'm a human being. She took off her number sticker ad threw it over judge Danni Minogue's head. The holistic vocal coach pretty much screamed out the song, which she called an "academic costruction." The whole thing was just...weird!

Chloe Victoria - This 19-year-old proved that sometimes talking a lot and begging can get you ahead.  Her singing wasn't good and I think it still would have been bad if she had used a backing track. Simon stopped her halfway to ask her to sing something else but the second song wasn't any better. The judges were not impressed and tried to tell her she wasn't ready but Chloe kept talking and eventually the judges put her through to the next round.

Duo Transcend - Trapeze act Duo Transcend performed on America's Got Talent. This dangerous act had the judges and audience on the edge of their seats with their ariel stunt including fire. They did so well but it ended with screams and a stunned silence.

Mahny Djahanguiri - Mahny works as a Doga (yoga with dogs) teacher she and her cute maltese dog did a session as their Britain's Got Talent audition, which itself was great but one of the hosts dogs ran on stage and peed on it! Then, the second host, all the judges and their dogs came on to do doga together and Mahny's dog peed on judge David Walliams' shoe!

Lorna Bliss - It seems like all Lorna Bliss wanted was attention. In her introduction, she said she has been on a few TV shows in Britain, Italy, Japan and Australia and just loves being on TV. Lorna was wearing a fishnet bodysuit which just screamed, "look at me!" Her singing was bad and even if it was good, doing what she did on and off that stage wouldn't have gotten her very far. Just watch!

Owen Campbell - Owen auditioned on Australia's Got Talent in 2012 and while his singing was actually great, the way he spoke to judges Brian McFadden, Danni, Minogue and Kyle Sandilands is what cost him the chance to go through. He did not say anything too offensive but he sounded cocky.

Tamera Foster - Tamera auditioned on The X Factor UK in 2019 and had a beautiful voice but unfortunately forgot the lyrics to I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston. She asked for a few seconds and walked off. When she came back and started again, she did really well and received positive feedback from the judges.

Siala Robson - In the play-off round on The Voice Australia this year, Siala Robson forgot the words to her song and was eliminated. She was allowed to return to the competition and ended up being a finalist.

Welcome back Justice Crew!

Photo credit to @Justicecrewofficial Instagram Justice Crew are a dance and music group who won Australia's Got Talent in 2010 and went on to release many amazing songs including number one hits Boom Boom and Que Sera . After their tour in 2019, they took a long break and now they are back!  I have been a huge fan of them since the beginning and have been to a lot of their shows, so when they announced they were performing a show in February, of course I was excited and attended with my friend. There was a huge crowd there to see them, which surprised a few people, including maybe the guys themselves. After six years, they probably felt rusty, but they were actually amazing as always. It was so cool to see them on stage again and here all the hit songs the number ones and  Everybody. It's so crazy how even now, after six year...

Light in the Darkness

We all carry a little darkness. Moments we don’t speak of. Storms We face. Shadows we walk through quietly.   But that doesn’t mean our light is gone.   Even on heavy days, when it feels like someone has punched us in the chest, or everything feels hopeless. We work. We care. We laugh. We create. We shine, like the brightest star in the sky.   No matter what happens today – even if it’s messy, or lonely, or full of tears - The sun will rise in the morning. Like it always does. Like we always do.   Because light doesn’t have to shout. Sometimes it just keeps showing up, quietly. One bright beam at a time.

Virtual Stop #1: Lymington - A Seaside Gem Discovered by Chance

Welcome to my virtual travel series, where I explore beautiful corners of the world without leaving my bed. Inspired by TikTok livestreamers and walking tour videos, these posts capture what I see, feel and learn as I journey through new places from afar.  I wasn't planning to visit Lymington - not virtually, not in any way. I had never heard of it before watching my favorite singing buskers livestream from the quaint little town in the UK and now I'm captivated. The charm of Lymington unfolded before my eyes: Cobbled pathways, rows of boats bobbing gently at the marina and friendly locals to stop and enjoy the music. I experienced it from my bed.  There is something so welcoming about the town, The people passing by weren't just polite - they were supportive. Some clapped, others left kind words or a few coins, and a few even stayed for songs. There are three ladies who go often to support the guys. They have all been following them on TikTok for a while and met each other...
