Review: Only By Chris Lanzon

Hello!

Today's post is going to be a short review of Chris Lanzon's cover of 'Only' by RY X, an Australian singer-songwriter, For anyone who doesn't know who Chris Lanzon is, he was a member of the band In Stereo who split up this year to focus on their own goals and careers.

Chris uploaded this cover on YouTube last Friday.

The video starts with his name and the title of the song and cuts to a close up of his hands playing the piano and then strumming the guitar. As Chris plays the first few notes, you are drawn in slowly. For the first minute, all we hear is the guitar. I normally don't like long introductions in songs but the images are just so beautiful, I didn't mind it this time. When he finally started singing, I literally said, "Wow!" He sounds angelic and as far as I can tell, he hits all the notes perfectly. The darkness in the room adds a mysterious, intimate feel. Throughout the video we see footage of him playing the guitar and singing in his room then cut to a beautiful location surrounded by trees, water with boats, cars driving across a bridge and birds flying over it. It looks like a very serene place and I absolutely love the panoramic shots in this video. When I watch the parts of Chris singing in the dark room with one small light, I can picture him performing this cover at an intimate show with a small audience sitting on comfortable chairs having drinks and a bite to eat. I wonder if he would do something like that one day. Chris' voice combined with the film shots gives me a feeling of peace and tranquillity.
Whenever I am stressed, I would play this to calm myself down.

I first heard Chris singing three years ago and I have always thought he has a beautiful tone of voice. Whether he is singing live for a large audience or by himself, he sounds awesome and you can tell how passionate he is about music. Chris is a very talented young guy. It would be amazing if he decides to carry on with a solo career. As you can see when you watch the video, Chris is a great producer and photographer so he could even have a career in that. Whatever he decides to do in the future, I know he will be great at it.

Well done Chris! Keep up the great work and I look forward to hearing more songs and watching more videos from you!

Welcome back Justice Crew!

Photo credit to @Justicecrewofficial Instagram Justice Crew are a dance and music group who won Australia's Got Talent in 2010 and went on to release many amazing songs including number one hits Boom Boom and Que Sera . After their tour in 2019, they took a long break and now they are back!  I have been a huge fan of them since the beginning and have been to a lot of their shows, so when they announced they were performing a show in February, of course I was excited and attended with my friend. There was a huge crowd there to see them, which surprised a few people, including maybe the guys themselves. After six years, they probably felt rusty, but they were actually amazing as always. It was so cool to see them on stage again and here all the hit songs the number ones and  Everybody. It's so crazy how even now, after six year...

Light in the Darkness

We all carry a little darkness. Moments we don’t speak of. Storms We face. Shadows we walk through quietly.   But that doesn’t mean our light is gone.   Even on heavy days, when it feels like someone has punched us in the chest, or everything feels hopeless. We work. We care. We laugh. We create. We shine, like the brightest star in the sky.   No matter what happens today – even if it’s messy, or lonely, or full of tears - The sun will rise in the morning. Like it always does. Like we always do.   Because light doesn’t have to shout. Sometimes it just keeps showing up, quietly. One bright beam at a time.

Virtual Stop #1: Lymington - A Seaside Gem Discovered by Chance

Welcome to my virtual travel series, where I explore beautiful corners of the world without leaving my bed. Inspired by TikTok livestreamers and walking tour videos, these posts capture what I see, feel and learn as I journey through new places from afar.  I wasn't planning to visit Lymington - not virtually, not in any way. I had never heard of it before watching my favorite singing buskers livestream from the quaint little town in the UK and now I'm captivated. The charm of Lymington unfolded before my eyes: Cobbled pathways, rows of boats bobbing gently at the marina and friendly locals to stop and enjoy the music. I experienced it from my bed.  There is something so welcoming about the town, The people passing by weren't just polite - they were supportive. Some clapped, others left kind words or a few coins, and a few even stayed for songs. There are three ladies who go often to support the guys. They have all been following them on TikTok for a while and met each other...
