No room for racism

Recently I have heard stories of racism in the news and witnessed it myself and I have a lot to say on this topic.

I read an article about American girl group Fifth Harmony's member Normani being racially cyberbullied.

A while ago I was at a young band's show working behind the scenes. This band's members are teenagers. After they performed they did a meet and greet where they signed autographs and took photos with their fans, who are mostly girls, and as I was watching I was appalled at what I saw. The band were so nice to the girls who were tall, fair skinned and what they considered pretty. They spent a few minutes talking them but completely ignored the girls and boys with darker skin. The look on those fans faces broke my heart. They left in tears.

The article, that experience and other things I have seen and heard make me so angry.

Racism is something none of us should tolerate. It has no place in the hearts of any human, it shouldn't. I don't understand how fair people can hate on people with dark skin or vice versa. We're not doing anything wrong. We all look different and come from different backgrounds and religions but we all feel the same emotions and we all study, work, have families and are trying to achieve what we want to, just like everyone else. The hatred associated with racism is skin deep and superficial.

Racism is a product of ignorance. People of colour should not have to worry that their skin could make them seem less valuable and diminish any of their other beautiful, amazing attributes. No one should ever be made to feel inferior because of their appearance or cultural background.

With all the pain and bad things happening in the world right now like war, shootings and terrorist attacks, it is sad that people still spend their time brining others down. It is not just bullying and abuse, people actually get killed in racist attacks. What is the world coming to?

Nelson Mandela said, "No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin or his background or his religion. People learn to hate."
Some kids these days are learning to hate and judge others based on their skin colour. I don't know where they are learning to be so racist but it needs to stop. Adults need to set an example for the younger generation and accept everyone, no matter where they come from or what they look like.

I for one strive everyday to represent peace and love and spread positive vibes and kindness to everyone around me and I encourage all of you to do the same. Love goes a lot further than hate.

Whether you are black, white, asian or latin, it does not matter. You all deserve the best in life!

Look at all these people. They're doing great things for the world!

Welcome back Justice Crew!

Photo credit to @Justicecrewofficial Instagram Justice Crew are a dance and music group who won Australia's Got Talent in 2010 and went on to release many amazing songs including number one hits Boom Boom and Que Sera . After their tour in 2019, they took a long break and now they are back!  I have been a huge fan of them since the beginning and have been to a lot of their shows, so when they announced they were performing a show in February, of course I was excited and attended with my friend. There was a huge crowd there to see them, which surprised a few people, including maybe the guys themselves. After six years, they probably felt rusty, but they were actually amazing as always. It was so cool to see them on stage again and here all the hit songs the number ones and  Everybody. It's so crazy how even now, after six year...

Light in the Darkness

We all carry a little darkness. Moments we don’t speak of. Storms We face. Shadows we walk through quietly.   But that doesn’t mean our light is gone.   Even on heavy days, when it feels like someone has punched us in the chest, or everything feels hopeless. We work. We care. We laugh. We create. We shine, like the brightest star in the sky.   No matter what happens today – even if it’s messy, or lonely, or full of tears - The sun will rise in the morning. Like it always does. Like we always do.   Because light doesn’t have to shout. Sometimes it just keeps showing up, quietly. One bright beam at a time.

Virtual Stop #1: Lymington - A Seaside Gem Discovered by Chance

Welcome to my virtual travel series, where I explore beautiful corners of the world without leaving my bed. Inspired by TikTok livestreamers and walking tour videos, these posts capture what I see, feel and learn as I journey through new places from afar.  I wasn't planning to visit Lymington - not virtually, not in any way. I had never heard of it before watching my favorite singing buskers livestream from the quaint little town in the UK and now I'm captivated. The charm of Lymington unfolded before my eyes: Cobbled pathways, rows of boats bobbing gently at the marina and friendly locals to stop and enjoy the music. I experienced it from my bed.  There is something so welcoming about the town, The people passing by weren't just polite - they were supportive. Some clapped, others left kind words or a few coins, and a few even stayed for songs. There are three ladies who go often to support the guys. They have all been following them on TikTok for a while and met each other...
