People and the Coronavirus Pandemic

What a crazy time we are living in right now! The coronavirus pandemic has affected everyone in some way - Some are working from home or not able to work at all, doing school work online, going grocery shopping only to find empty shelves and limited stock of the items they need and unable to get medication and go about their daily lives. So many industries are suffering due to events being cancelled. Artists, performers, producers, managers and people in the music and entertainment industry are suffering due to cancelled or postponed concerts and the beauty and tourism industries are losing business. Whatever the situation, this has changed all of our lives. The global health crisis has brought out the worst in people. When we watch the news and go on social media everyday, we see videos of people arguing and even physically fighting in supermarkets over basic times like toilet paper and photos of the elderly facing empty shelves, struggling to find the essentials. Those photos are ...

I Love Me

Last week, Demi Lovato released a new single called I Love Me  and in this post, I am going to share my thoughts on the song and music video, which came out on the same day. Demi is one of my favourite artists. She is a very talented singer and actress and I feel that she is a great role model for young girls. She's been through a lot in her life - She started her entertainment career in 2002 and has been acting, singing and appearing on TV ever since, was bullied at school due to her acting, has suffered from depression, an eating disorder and self-harm and took drugs. With all her personal struggles, she has managed to have a successful career. I love that she is so open and honest about what she has been through. Not many people like to discuss those issues, especially in the media, but she does and I'm sure it helps a lot of people who may be in the same situation. 'I Love Me' is a self-love anthem which talks about struggles with self-image. Lyrics such as...

Pet Adoption

Hello! Are you thinking of getting a pet? If the answer is yes, please consider adopting from an animal shelter instead of buying one from a pet store or breeder. In this post I am going to share some reasons why adoption is better, but first, let me tell you some benefits of having a pet! Pets provide companionship - For people who live alone, having a pet is like having a roommate and something to keep them company. Even if you don't live alone, pets bring so much happiness into the house and could help the whole family spend more time together. You all can watch your pet, play games, share cuddles and laugh at its antics. Cats and dogs are very affectionate. Imagine coming home after a hard day at work or school and seeing your pet running to the door to greet you? How good would that be! They make you feel safe - Parents could go out and leave their children at home knowing the dog is there with them. It's good to have a guard dog for this purpose. Some dogs in ...

Music Video Review - Cheesy Love Song

Hello! This post is a review of Sydney band The Lazy Eyes' music video for their debut single ' Cheesy Love Song '. If you don't know who The Lazy Eyes are, search them up on social media! I have seen these four talented guys perform a few times and have been waiting for them to actually release some music and Cheesy Love Song is awesome! Photo from @thelazyeyesband on Instagram The video opens with Harvey playing the piano and singing. He immediately had me hooked with his amazing voice. He sounds angelic to me. The camera zooms out to show the other members, Noah on the drums and Blake on the.... bass? (forgive me, I'm not sure what you call that instrument. It looks like a guitar to me!) For a moment I thought, wait a minute, someone's missing and then, as Noah gives that drum one big beating, Itay appears from the left side with his instrument. I like that we could just hear the instrumentals for a few seconds, they blend together very well. At ...

Anxiety Relief Kits

Hello! Welcome to my first blog post for 2020! In this post, I am giving you some ideas for what you can put into an anxiety or stress relief kit, which is a collection of items used to relieve feelings of stress and anxiety. These items can be put into a small pouch, purse, your handbag or backpack to take with you when you go out or in a box at home. The items listed here engage all five of your senses. Sight - Photos of your family, friends and pets are good to have in the kit to show you all the people who love and support you and pets that make you happy.. Also, if you are going to a concert or special event and you are feeling anxious, having a photo or keepsake from previous events help remind you that you were fine and had a great time. Smell - Aromatherapy is helpful for people living with anxiety so include mini perfumes, essential oils, hand sanitizes and creams in your favorite scents.  Sound - Your phone or an iPod with headphones because music is very the...
