Review: DBL's Just A Fool Video

Hello! Two months ago, I introduced all of you, my readers, to an incredible artist called DBL with a review of his Another Round music video. Now, in this post, I am going to write a short review of his music video for Just A Fool , a song on his EP Island Vibez. In the song, DBL is talking to a girl he likes. He is telling her that he has anything she wants and is trying to get her to love him. The video begins with a silhouette of DBL dancing in a dark tunnel. Throughout the video, the scenes cut from the tunnel, to a black background with bursts of colour and then to  a colourful, rotating background. I like that his face is not just against a plain background but instead it looks like paint is being splashed everywhere. I think it makes it fun. The colourful, rotating background looks like what you would see if you look through a kaleidoscope and it makes the video even more attractive. DBL's dancing reminds me of another artist we all know and love...

Funny Talent Show Auditions

Hello! So many of Australia's and the world's biggest stars found success and began their careers after competing in talent shows like The X Factor, Idol, and Got Talent. Justice Crew, Trent Bell, In Stereo, One Direction, Little Mix and Kelly Clarkson all started off that way. These shows are a great stepping stone into the music and entertainment industry but for some people who have auditioned, it may be something they would rather forget. In this post, I am going to share some funny talent show auditions from around the world. Sometimes, when I need a good laugh I watch these on YouTube. These auditions are hilarious, cringe-worthy and make you go "OMG!" Things can get crazy on the shows we love. I will add links to each audition. 1. Ablisa Abby and Lisa auditioned for The X Factor UK in 2010.The friends spent the first few seconds of their moment on stage by talking about judge Louie Walsh being old and when Simon Cowell asked why they decided t...

Concert Essentials

Hello! For my first blog post in September, I am going to share with you some concert essentials. These are things that everyone should take with them when they go to concerts and I have added some things that I personally like to have with me. I know some people who are attending concerts for the first time soon so this will be helpful. 1. Bag The size of our bag depends on how much you're taking but a small one that you can carry on our shoulder would be best. You don't want to carry a huge bag around with you the whole time because that would stop you from dancing and really enjoying the show. Some venues have cloakrooms where you can put your things for a small fee. 2. Tickets Of course, this is the most important thing you need. You need our ticket to get in to the concert. This is the first thing I put in my bag and I'm constantly checking I have my ticket even when I'm on the way there to make sure it hasn't fallen out or anything. our ti...

Happy Birthday Michael Jackson

Hello! Wow, it has nine years since the legendary king of pop, Michael Jackson, passed away! I'm sure many of us remember where we were when the news of his death broke on June 25th, 2009. I sure do. I had a day off on that day and was getting ready to meet up with friends for lunch when I turned on the television and saw the headline, "Michael Jackson dead at 50" across the screen. With endless coverage and specials on television, how could anyone miss it? I was so shocked and sad, like millions of other people around the world. Michael was one of the most popular entertainers in the world and was the best-selling music artist in 2009. His contributions to music and very public personal life made him a global figure for many years. He constantly made headlines and became the subject of sensational and fabricated stories because of his eccentricities but his music and amazing humanitarian work are what he is most remembered and loved for. A lot of sadness came ...

Young musicians to check out

Hello! I am sure you're all aware by now that I love music and going to live concerts and shows. Of course, I love listening to the big international stars like Ariana Grande, One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift and Celine Dion and artists right here in Australia like Justice Crew and Trent Bell, just to name a few, but I also love listening to different types of music and finding new singers and bands on social media. In this post, I am going to share a few of these musicians I've seen recently. 1. Maddie Simpson Maddie is a 20-year-old from America and has just released her first single titled Love Me Loud. She posted the cover art of her single on Instagram and in the caption she said, "I hope at least one person resonates with this song and makes them want to dance and fall in love." Well, it definitely does that for me. I have played it a few times and admit that I have danced along while doing other work. She told V Magazine, "I p...
