Interview - In Stereo

Hello! Today I had the opportunity to interview Jakob and Chris from In Stereo! I had a chat to them about a few things including their experience on the X Factor their latest EP and music video, how they deal with haters and juggle school and music and what they love about their fans. I also asked them a couple of questions from fans. Here's the full interview. Hi Jakob and Chris! You were on the X Factor in 2015. How was your experience on the show? Chris: The experience was great. We were very grateful to be a part of it and the exposure and the audience gave us the opportunity to perform to and grow with. Do you keep in touch with your mentor Guy Sebastian or any of the other contestants? Jakob: Yeah we've kept in touch with Guy a little bit. We wrote a song with him and got to hang out with him a little bit after the show and we're really good friends with a lot of the other contestants we were on the show with as well and we see them around w...

Review - Let Me Show You Music Video

In Stereo's music video for Let Me Show You has just been released. Fans have been eagerly awaiting this video for months and it was definitely worth the wait! 'Let Me Show You' is the fifth song on In Stereo's third EP Day In Day Out, which was released on July 7 this year. The Skyline Drive In in Blacktown, which looks a lot like the Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe in Riverdale, provides the perfect setting for this video. It begins with Jakob, Chris and Ethan arriving on the back of a sports car. Along with the sun, trees and the boys outfits, it gives a summer feel.   The mannequins played the role of girls they were singing to which fit the song perfectly and also added some humour with Chris holding a broken hand with a scared expression on his face.       The videographers used different camera angles and techniques such as zooming in and out, close up and distant shots, panning and a birdseye view of the boys dancing on the r...

Review: The Lazy Eyes at the Newtown fesitval

If you can't already tell, I am crazy about the Lazy Eyes, a four piece band from Sydney. I first heard about these guys from friends who were already fans and saw them perform live for the for the first time at the Shoreshocked battle of the bands in February. Last Sunday, I went to see them perform at the Newtown Festival. I knew they performed there last year so I checked the webiste to see if they would be performing again and was disappointed to see that their names were not on the list but the next day they said they were performing in a post on Facebook. I was happy and quickly messaged some friends and asked if they would like to come along with me and they said yes. It wouldn't have mattered if they had said no, I would have gone anyway! Harvey, Itay, Blake and Noah put on an amazing performance! They strummed away on their guitars, danced and flipped their hair and sang so well. Whenever I watch them perform or see a video of them, I get the feeling t...

Words Hurt

Hello, This post is a more serious one. It's kind of a rant inspired by things that have happened on social media lately. Hate is defined as intense feelings of dislike happens everywhere. In the school grounds, on social media, at work. It can happen in a small way like someone teasing or bullying you or on a much larger scale like people committing acts of revenge and terrorism. Now I'm just going to talk about social media. I will be using the word hate a lot in this post but I think it is a strong word and prefer not to use it. Instead of using "the H word", I prefer to say "I don't like", "I'm not a fan", "not my cup of tea" or "not my thing." This past week while scrolling through Instagram, I have seen horrible comments on people's posts, both celebrities and girls I know and most of the bullying and hate was brought on by innocent acts and difference in opinions. One example is a tweet by US gy...
