Music Video Review - Cheesy Love Song

Hello!

This post is a review of Sydney band The Lazy Eyes' music video for their debut single 'Cheesy Love Song'. If you don't know who The Lazy Eyes are, search them up on social media!
I have seen these four talented guys perform a few times and have been waiting for them to actually release some music and Cheesy Love Song is awesome!

The video opens with Harvey playing the piano and singing. He immediately had me hooked with his amazing voice. He sounds angelic to me. The camera zooms out to show the other members, Noah on the drums and Blake on the.... bass? (forgive me, I'm not sure what you call that instrument. It looks like a guitar to me!) For a moment I thought, wait a minute, someone's missing and then, as Noah gives that drum one big beating, Itay appears from the left side with his instrument. I like that we could just hear the instrumentals for a few seconds, they blend together very well.

At this point, I had a feeling that lights were going to come on or the background would change but it didn't and, if I'm being completely honest, I was a little disappointed because I would have liked to see that and a bit more color because the black makes it a little gloomy. This is a love song and I feel that a more colorful background or location would have gone well with it.

In the second chorus, the guys are sitting in the middle of an orchestra of violin and cello players. I liked this part. It made it unique because orchestras are rarely seen in music videos. At first I thought only Harvey was sitting in the middle of them but then realized Noah and Itay are also there, on the sides. I'm sure Blake was there too but not in the shot.

Next, there are close up shots of all the guys which is great. Each member and there musical talents are showcased. Two minutes and eighteen seconds into the video, a lot starts happening in the video. Special effects are added. I don't know what to call these effects but I'll explain them as best as I can.
Various shots are intertwined, we see a close-up of Blake, Harvey and Itay with Noah playing the drums. Here are some screenshot to help explain what I'm trying to say.

I love that the camera moves around so we can see them from different angles. It makes it more interesting. One of my favorites was the view from above starting at point three minutes and six seconds.

Towards the end of the video, there's a part where the camera goes behind the orchestra and that makes us feel like we are part of the audience watching them on stage. I like the kaleidoscope effect. When I saw that I was like, yay! finally some colour!

Harvey, Blake, Noah and Itay sure do move with a lot of passion when they perform. It shows that they enjoy performing and are having fun. I wonder if they can dance? That would be interesting to see! I think they have improved a lot. Each time I see them perform, they get better and I can tell that they have worked hard in the studio recording this song and filming this video. They have shown their creativity here.

The Lazy Eyes, the director and everyone involved in the making of this video have done a great job.
Guys, Congratulations on your first single and music video. You all are amazing and should be very proud of this. I hope to hear more music soon!

'Cheesy Love Song' can be streamed on Spotify and you can watch the music video o YouTube.
Everyone get on it. You won't regret it!

Virtual Stop #1: Lymington - A Seaside Gem Discovered by Chance

Welcome to my virtual travel series, where I explore beautiful corners of the world without leaving my bed. Inspired by TikTok livestreamers and walking tour videos, these posts capture what I see, feel and learn as I journey through new places from afar.  I wasn't planning to visit Lymington - not virtually, not in any way. I had never heard of it before watching my favorite singing buskers livestream from the quaint little town in the UK and now I'm captivated. The charm of Lymington unfolded before my eyes: Cobbled pathways, rows of boats bobbing gently at the marina and friendly locals to stop and enjoy the music. I experienced it from my bed.  There is something so welcoming about the town, The people passing by weren't just polite - they were supportive. Some clapped, others left kind words or a few coins, and a few even stayed for songs. There are three ladies who go often to support the guys. They have all been following them on TikTok for a while and met each other...

The Prove It Game

The public opinions on Meghan Markle, or Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are divided. Some love her and most seem to hate her. I admire her in some ways. I just watched an interview she did with podcast host Jamie Kern Lima and something she said resonated with me.  Image from Jamie Kern Lima YouTube.  Here it is: "We spend so much of our lives trying to prove something. You have to prove that you're enough, you have to prove that you're pretty enough, you have to prove that you're smart enough, you have to prove that you're a good wife or a good friend, and I am just so done with the prove it game. When you get to the place where you feel like I don't have to prove anything to you anymore. I don't have to prove that I'm a good person, I don't have to prove that I'm a good wife or mum or friend, I don't have to prove that I work hard. It can be really freeing when you stop playing the prove it game." - Meghan Markle. I completely agree with...

Social Media Ban

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said that the Australian Government will enact laws to ban children under 16 years of age from social media and here I am sharing my thoughts on this.  Image from The Chapel Hairdressers - Horsham Facebook page  There are many benefits of social media. We can share photos and videos with our families and friends to keep them updated on our lives, instantly communicate with them, have a record of special memories, businesses can promote their products and services, connect with people professionally and do so much more. So many people are working on social media full time as influencers, working with brands and creating content online  and some have even married people they met online.  Social media can also be used as a weapon.   Preteens and teenagers go through puberty, stress about getting good grades at school, do their best to live up to their parents expectations, have many things they are worried about and just wan...
