Amazing Talent Show Auditions

Hello!

Last month I shared some funny talent auditions from around the world which were weird and went wrong and now in this post, I am going to share some of the best auditions from around the world.

1. Susan Boyle
When 48-year-old Susan Boyle walked onto the Britain's Got Talent stage in 2009 and started answering the judges questions, some people in the audience were laughing. I don't know why, maybe it was because of her cheekiness. Simon Cowell asked her What her dream is and she said "I'm trying to be a professional singer," a girl in the audience was shown making a face. I think a lost of people thought this was going to be another one of those people who can't really sing but as soon as Susan started singing, she proved them wrong. Amanda Holden's jaw actually dropped! She had a beautiful voice. The laughter stopped and cheers started. She earned a well-deserved standing ovation and got through to the next round. She came in second place but still found success. She showed everyone that you shouldn't be so quick to judge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jca_p_3FcWA

2, Justice Crew
This dance crew of nine boys auditioned for Australia's Got Talent in 2010. In the introduction, Emmanuel said that they were all self-taught auditions because they couldn't afford to go to classes. They spent their time teaching local communities which as so nice, I loved their positivity. Their Dance moves were absolutely amazing and so unique. They did things that I had never seen before. Their flips and breakdancing were very cool! The judges gave them a standing ovation and got through to the next round. We could tell that the crew were passionate about what they do. They were the winners that year! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIDSmOIb-70

3. Anna Clendening
20-year-old Anna Clendening overcame her anxiety disorder when she auditioned for America's Got Talent in 2014. She was so nervous that the host had to walk her onto the stage! Hearing her story about having severe panic attacks, not even being able to leave her room and wanting to give up made everyone so emotional. As Howie Mandel said, for her to even show up for the audition was so amazing! She performed a beautiful cover of 'Hallelujah and got a standing ovation and a hug from Howie. Anna's strength was incredible. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XO-abUhL_Ws

4. Darci Lynne Farmer
An incredible young ventriloquist who was on America's Got Talent last year. Ventriloquists have always fascinated me, I wonder how they get the puppet to talk without them moving their mouths. Darci. Mel B pressed the golden buzzer, sending Darci straight through to the live show.

5.Just Us
Just Us are a dance group who were on Britain's Got Talent in 2017. One of the girls named Julia said that she has scoliosis and has to have surgery soon and this audition might be her last chance to dance so it meant a lot to her and the other girls. I found it amazing that she didn't cry when she said that. If something I love to do and am passionate about was taken away from me I think I would. She must have been sad but she was so strong and had a great attitude. The girls danced to 'Fight Song' by Rachel Platten. It was a beautiful performance and everyone could tell how close the girls were. They weren't just a dance group, they were best friends too. Judge Alesha was so touched that she pressed the golden buzzer! Just Us really did deserve it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwUAJ0NkxPk

6. Trent Bell
Trent was in The Collective, a boy band formed on the X Factor in 2012. Since the group split, he has continued as a solo artist and auditioned for The Voice this year with a song called 'Always' which was so good! All the judges loved him and Trent chose Delta Goodrem as his coach. She said "I know your voice. We haven't had a voice like that since Jack Jones and John Farnham" and it's true! Trent is a hard-working and talented guy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mp4Jcph1k7U

These are some of my favourite auditions and performers. You should all check them out and get to know them if you don't already!

Virtual Stop #1: Lymington - A Seaside Gem Discovered by Chance

Welcome to my virtual travel series, where I explore beautiful corners of the world without leaving my bed. Inspired by TikTok livestreamers and walking tour videos, these posts capture what I see, feel and learn as I journey through new places from afar.  I wasn't planning to visit Lymington - not virtually, not in any way. I had never heard of it before watching my favorite singing buskers livestream from the quaint little town in the UK and now I'm captivated. The charm of Lymington unfolded before my eyes: Cobbled pathways, rows of boats bobbing gently at the marina and friendly locals to stop and enjoy the music. I experienced it from my bed.  There is something so welcoming about the town, The people passing by weren't just polite - they were supportive. Some clapped, others left kind words or a few coins, and a few even stayed for songs. There are three ladies who go often to support the guys. They have all been following them on TikTok for a while and met each other...

The Prove It Game

The public opinions on Meghan Markle, or Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are divided. Some love her and most seem to hate her. I admire her in some ways. I just watched an interview she did with podcast host Jamie Kern Lima and something she said resonated with me.  Image from Jamie Kern Lima YouTube.  Here it is: "We spend so much of our lives trying to prove something. You have to prove that you're enough, you have to prove that you're pretty enough, you have to prove that you're smart enough, you have to prove that you're a good wife or a good friend, and I am just so done with the prove it game. When you get to the place where you feel like I don't have to prove anything to you anymore. I don't have to prove that I'm a good person, I don't have to prove that I'm a good wife or mum or friend, I don't have to prove that I work hard. It can be really freeing when you stop playing the prove it game." - Meghan Markle. I completely agree with...

Social Media Ban

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said that the Australian Government will enact laws to ban children under 16 years of age from social media and here I am sharing my thoughts on this.  Image from The Chapel Hairdressers - Horsham Facebook page  There are many benefits of social media. We can share photos and videos with our families and friends to keep them updated on our lives, instantly communicate with them, have a record of special memories, businesses can promote their products and services, connect with people professionally and do so much more. So many people are working on social media full time as influencers, working with brands and creating content online  and some have even married people they met online.  Social media can also be used as a weapon.   Preteens and teenagers go through puberty, stress about getting good grades at school, do their best to live up to their parents expectations, have many things they are worried about and just wan...
