Funny Talent Show Auditions

Hello!

So many of Australia's and the world's biggest stars found success and began their careers after competing in talent shows like The X Factor, Idol, and Got Talent. Justice Crew, Trent Bell, In Stereo, One Direction, Little Mix and Kelly Clarkson all started off that way. These shows are a great stepping stone into the music and entertainment industry but for some people who have auditioned, it may be something they would rather forget.

In this post, I am going to share some funny talent show auditions from around the world. Sometimes, when I need a good laugh I watch these on YouTube. These auditions are hilarious, cringe-worthy and make you go "OMG!" Things can get crazy on the shows we love. I will add links to each audition.

1. Ablisa
Abby and Lisa auditioned for The X Factor UK in 2010.The friends spent the first few seconds of their moment on stage by talking about judge Louie Walsh being old and when Simon Cowell asked why they decided to audition, Abby replied, "I don't know." When the audience started booing, Lisa said "Shut up!" Not a good start, It all went downhill from there. The girls sang a song by Shayne Ward. It was bad. The most shocing part came at the end.

2. Andrew Fenlon
Andrew's American Idol 2010 audition went all wrong. He walked in tensed and angry because he had to wait for a very long time to get in. He answered the questions judges very rudely and his singing wasn't any better. The judges were not impressed by him at all. Kara was the most annoyed by him.

3. The Singing Souls
Louise, Tasha and Hannah auditioned for Britain's Got Talent in 2009 as a group called The Singing Souls. Their performance wasn't good at all. Simon Cowell said "Look girls, you sounded like three cats being dragged up the motorway." Hannah was very unaccepting of the judges criticism and continuously argued and made comments about The Spice Girls. The other girls were mostly quiet.

4. Ashanti Johnson
This woman should have auditioned for an acting role instead of American Idol. Her response to the judges comments about her performance was dramatic.

5. Jorge Pena
Jorge, who auditioned for The X Factor USA 2013, was actually really good but the way he was towards the female judges was.... well I don't know what to call it but it wasn't good.

6. Mary Lacarelli

7. Mason Noise
This was actually at the 6 chair challenge round of the X Factor UK 2015. He was a great performer with a very bad attitude. He called out the producers for cutting his audition short for television.

8. Zoe Alexander
Zoe was a Pink tribute artist who auditioned for the X Factor UK 2012. She confused everyone by saying she wanted to move away from Pink and find her own identity but then singing a song by Pink. The judges asked her to sing another song so she did. The judges said it was much better but still wasn't good enough to go through to the next round. Zoe said they told her to sing a Pink song but they didn't. She then exploded!

9. Michael Lewis
This guy auditioned for the X Factor UK twice. First in 2010 as a Michael Jackson tribute act and again in 2011 as himself. Both times, his performance was bad and responded angrily to the judges criticism and the audience boos. He refused to leave the stage.

10. Yosselin Marquez
In what must have been a first for the X Factor USA or anywhere, this lady held her phone up and read the lyrics as she was auditioning!

These are just a few of the many hilarious talent show auditions. Sometimes I wonder if these people only go on the show to get five minutes of fame or if they genuinely believe they will get through. I also wonder if they are hired for extra entertainment. Whatever the reason is it makes good television.

Virtual Stop #1: Lymington - A Seaside Gem Discovered by Chance

Welcome to my virtual travel series, where I explore beautiful corners of the world without leaving my bed. Inspired by TikTok livestreamers and walking tour videos, these posts capture what I see, feel and learn as I journey through new places from afar.  I wasn't planning to visit Lymington - not virtually, not in any way. I had never heard of it before watching my favorite singing buskers livestream from the quaint little town in the UK and now I'm captivated. The charm of Lymington unfolded before my eyes: Cobbled pathways, rows of boats bobbing gently at the marina and friendly locals to stop and enjoy the music. I experienced it from my bed.  There is something so welcoming about the town, The people passing by weren't just polite - they were supportive. Some clapped, others left kind words or a few coins, and a few even stayed for songs. There are three ladies who go often to support the guys. They have all been following them on TikTok for a while and met each other...

The Prove It Game

The public opinions on Meghan Markle, or Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are divided. Some love her and most seem to hate her. I admire her in some ways. I just watched an interview she did with podcast host Jamie Kern Lima and something she said resonated with me.  Image from Jamie Kern Lima YouTube.  Here it is: "We spend so much of our lives trying to prove something. You have to prove that you're enough, you have to prove that you're pretty enough, you have to prove that you're smart enough, you have to prove that you're a good wife or a good friend, and I am just so done with the prove it game. When you get to the place where you feel like I don't have to prove anything to you anymore. I don't have to prove that I'm a good person, I don't have to prove that I'm a good wife or mum or friend, I don't have to prove that I work hard. It can be really freeing when you stop playing the prove it game." - Meghan Markle. I completely agree with...

Social Media Ban

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said that the Australian Government will enact laws to ban children under 16 years of age from social media and here I am sharing my thoughts on this.  Image from The Chapel Hairdressers - Horsham Facebook page  There are many benefits of social media. We can share photos and videos with our families and friends to keep them updated on our lives, instantly communicate with them, have a record of special memories, businesses can promote their products and services, connect with people professionally and do so much more. So many people are working on social media full time as influencers, working with brands and creating content online  and some have even married people they met online.  Social media can also be used as a weapon.   Preteens and teenagers go through puberty, stress about getting good grades at school, do their best to live up to their parents expectations, have many things they are worried about and just wan...
