Concert Essentials

Hello!

For my first blog post in September, I am going to share with you some concert essentials. These are things that everyone should take with them when they go to concerts and I have added some things that I personally like to have with me. I know some people who are attending concerts for the first time soon so this will be helpful.

1. Bag
The size of our bag depends on how much you're taking but a small one that you can carry on our shoulder would be best. You don't want to carry a huge bag around with you the whole time because that would stop you from dancing and really enjoying the show. Some venues have cloakrooms where you can put your things for a small fee.

2. Tickets
Of course, this is the most important thing you need. You need our ticket to get in to the concert. This is the first thing I put in my bag and I'm constantly checking I have my ticket even when I'm on the way there to make sure it hasn't fallen out or anything. our ticket gives you guaranteed entry.
This is my ticket from Jay Sean's concert in 2012. I love saving my tickets to keep them in a scrapbook or on my memory wall.

3. Phone
You need your phone wherever you go but at concerts, you need it to take photos and videos and to call your parents or whoever is picking you up after the concert is over.

4. Wallet
Make sure you have your wallet with plenty of money for transport, food and merch!

5. Comfortable shoes

Wear a comfortable pair of shoes that you can easily move around in. Remember you will be standing for a long time and you will get tired. I wear either flat ankle boots or sneakers. I don't recommend wearing heels but if you really want to wear them, make sure their wedges, not stilettos.

6. Water
Take a bottle of water as you will get thirsty from all that jumping around and dancing you're most probably going to be doing. Some venues may have water bottles for sale but I like to have my own.

7. Band-Aids
Band-aids are a good thing to have in your bag, especially if you're in a mosh pit because it can get aggressive with all the pushing and jumping and you could easily get stepped on or hurt somehow. I never go into a mosh pit because I can't stand to be crushed so I stand right at the back or somewhere with plenty of space but I still take band-aids to be safe. I could share them with other people who need them and ma not have any.

8. Cleansing Wipes
Having some cleansing wet wipes are useful to freshen up and you get hot and sweaty so they cool you down.

9. Snack
I take a small snack in my bag because I find that I get hungry very quickly so I like to have something t munch on while I'm watching the performance, if I'm allowed to. If food isn't allowed inside the venue I still take something to have after it's over. If you want to take something to eat, I suggest something quick and easy like a muesli bar, chocolate or mixed nuts.

These next two essentials are for any anxious concert-goers.

10. Rescue Pastilles
Rescue remedy pastilles are helpful for anyone who suffers from anxiety and has panic attacks. If you're feeling panicky, chew on a pastille and it will relieve you. You can also get rescue remedy in a spray which you put on your tongue.

11. Fidget toy
Sometimes, holding something in your hands can calm you down. Playing with a fidget spinner, squishy ball or some small toy gives you something to focus on besides whatever it is that's making you anxious.

12. Tissues
Always take tissues.

So those are my concert essentials. I hope some people find this helpful.

Have a great week everyone.

Vishi xoxo

Virtual Stop #1: Lymington - A Seaside Gem Discovered by Chance

Welcome to my virtual travel series, where I explore beautiful corners of the world without leaving my bed. Inspired by TikTok livestreamers and walking tour videos, these posts capture what I see, feel and learn as I journey through new places from afar.  I wasn't planning to visit Lymington - not virtually, not in any way. I had never heard of it before watching my favorite singing buskers livestream from the quaint little town in the UK and now I'm captivated. The charm of Lymington unfolded before my eyes: Cobbled pathways, rows of boats bobbing gently at the marina and friendly locals to stop and enjoy the music. I experienced it from my bed.  There is something so welcoming about the town, The people passing by weren't just polite - they were supportive. Some clapped, others left kind words or a few coins, and a few even stayed for songs. There are three ladies who go often to support the guys. They have all been following them on TikTok for a while and met each other...

The Prove It Game

The public opinions on Meghan Markle, or Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are divided. Some love her and most seem to hate her. I admire her in some ways. I just watched an interview she did with podcast host Jamie Kern Lima and something she said resonated with me.  Image from Jamie Kern Lima YouTube.  Here it is: "We spend so much of our lives trying to prove something. You have to prove that you're enough, you have to prove that you're pretty enough, you have to prove that you're smart enough, you have to prove that you're a good wife or a good friend, and I am just so done with the prove it game. When you get to the place where you feel like I don't have to prove anything to you anymore. I don't have to prove that I'm a good person, I don't have to prove that I'm a good wife or mum or friend, I don't have to prove that I work hard. It can be really freeing when you stop playing the prove it game." - Meghan Markle. I completely agree with...

Social Media Ban

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said that the Australian Government will enact laws to ban children under 16 years of age from social media and here I am sharing my thoughts on this.  Image from The Chapel Hairdressers - Horsham Facebook page  There are many benefits of social media. We can share photos and videos with our families and friends to keep them updated on our lives, instantly communicate with them, have a record of special memories, businesses can promote their products and services, connect with people professionally and do so much more. So many people are working on social media full time as influencers, working with brands and creating content online  and some have even married people they met online.  Social media can also be used as a weapon.   Preteens and teenagers go through puberty, stress about getting good grades at school, do their best to live up to their parents expectations, have many things they are worried about and just wan...
