2019 MTV Video Music Awards

The 36 th  annual MTV Video Music Awards were held on Monday at the Prudential Center in Newark and there were a few memorable moments that people are still talking about. Dominating superstars including Taylor Swift and Cardi B travelled to New Jersey for the ceremony, which also included other types of 2019 pop fandom such as multiple performances in Spanish and the first K-pop award. Taylor Swift was the winner of the night, opening the show by performing  You Need to Calm Down  and  Lover,  both from her recently released seventh LP, and winning three awards, including Video of the Year for  You Need to Calm Down. Ten years after Kanye West famously interrupted her acceptance speech at the 2009 VMAs, Swift was able to deliver her speech without any disturbances. “You voting for the video means that you want a world where we’re all treated equally under god, regardless of who you love, regardless of how we identify,” she said. Review: Carnie Vore

Last year children's Author Athena Phillips wrote and published her first book, Herbie's Happy Birthday  which is amazing and now she is back with a second book called Carnie Vore Helps With Chores.  In this book, we are introduced to Herbie's cousin Carnie, an adorable little dinosaur who enjoys helping out around the house. Athena "wrote this book to encourage children to be more of a helper in the world." It definitely does that. I'm going to share my thoughts on it. The cover of the book is absolutely beautiful. It's bright and colourful and I love the purple theme of the room. Purple is my favourite colour so of course I do! The title is written in big font and block letters which makes it easy for children to read. It is a very attractive cover that I think people will be drawn to when they are looking in a library or bookshop. The story follows a day in the life of Carnie. We get to see what she does each day, from waking up, playing,...

Song Review: Drowning

Just over a year after the release of Hopelessly,  Jakob Delgado is back with his second song as a solo artist! The former boy band member started promoting Drowning at the end of last month by posting short lyric videos on Instagram and released the song yesterday. The fans have waited a very long time to hear new music from Jakob and it was worth it. I'm going to share my thoughts on the song. I think Drowning is about a broken relationship. With the words, "Feel like I can sum it up, you've been f***ing with someone..." it sounds like he is talking about someone who cheated on him or did him wrong. It's very easy to assume it's about a girl but really it could be about anyone. Maybe it's about a friend. Whoever the person is doesn't seem to want anything to do with him unless they want something as the lyrics, "you don't call me unless you need a favour," suggest.  Jakob said in an Instagram livestream that he will wri...

Celine Dion is amazing! The legendary singer always puts on powerful, stunning performances on stage and she has an awesome sense of fashion. Every time she steps out, she wears unique outfits that very few people can pull off.  Here, I am going to share some favorite looks.
