Jaafar Jackson, the son of Jermaine Jackson of The Jackson 5, has just released is debut single. It is called Got Me Singing and was written by 22-year-old Jaafar and veteran producer Hardy Indiigo. It was released on all music platforms including Apple Music and Spotify on Friday and the music video was uploaded on YouTube a few hours later.
Here I am going to write a short review of the video.
At the start of the video, we get a birds-eye view of a city and see Jaafar riding on the back of a motorcycle. The location appears on screen - Vidigal, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. The clothes Jaafar and everyone is wearing give a Caribbean, summer vibe. The song actually starts a minute into the video and the first sounds accompany views of houses and different parts of the city. I like that because we get to know a little bit of Brazil. The first shot of Jaafar is taken on a rooftop. His outfit goes well with the background. The camera then cuts to a beautiful woman who plays the love interest. Her name is Amanda Costa and she does a great job. It looks like she and Jaafar had great chemistry between them on set, which two people would need to have to be able to film those steamy, romantic scenes. Jaafar is soon joined on the roof by some friends who dance a long with him. They perform a choreographed routine which is probably much harder than it looks and I have to say I am amazed that they were able to dance on the very wet ground! I'm cautious whenever I walk in the rain or on wet surfaces and don't think I would be able to do all those amazing dance moves on water. They probably had to do many takes to get it right but I hope nobody slipped! I like that we get to see the dancers from different angles like from above, for which I guess they used drones, and close ups. Just look at the smiles on their faces, they had so much fun and were so happy. Towards the end, Jaafar is in a different outfit and he and Amanda go to a street party. It looks very festive and for a minute we get to see Jaafar just dancing and wow, he is just as good at dancing as he is at singing. Love the way they look at each other at the end of the video.
Got Me Singing is available now on all music platforms and the video is on YouTube.

You can tell that the people of Brazil are fun and lovely and Vidigal is a beautiful city. Everything about this video is perfect - The location, the camera shots and angles, the dancers and choreography. I think Amanda was a great choice to play that role and Hardy Indiigo directed it really well. This track is one everyone should add to their play lists. Got Me Singing is a catchy song that really made me cheerful and feel like dancing. To Jaafar and everyone involved in this music video, congratulations! This song is amazing and now I'm looking forward to hearing more music from Jaafar.
