Hello!
Wow, there are only three more days left of this year! It has been an action packed year for so many people and in this post, I am going to highlight a few things that happened in the world of entertainment in 2018. I am writing these in no particular order.
Forever Ends Here's Final Show
In January, Australian band Forever Ends Here performed for the very last time before splitting up. The group, Mav, Kane, Luke and Arran, embarked on a farewell tour of Australia and their final and biggest headline show ever was held at the Factory Theatre in Sydney.
Chris Lanzon and Jakob Delgado of In Stereo released a song called Cruel in January after Ethan Karpathy announced his departure from the band in December 2017. Then, after months of speculation, Chris and Jakob announced that they were splitting up to pursue other things. In Stereo's fans, who were called Stereonators, were saddened by the news but were proud of the boys and some are still following them, waiting to see what they will do next.
The Kardashian family grew bigger this year, with the births of Kim's daughter via surrogate, Chicago, Kylie Jenner's daughter Stormi, and Khloe's daughter True. Everyone knew that Kim and Khloe were expecting but Kylie's pregnancy was a secret. She had mysteriously disappeared from social media and was rarely seen in public since December 2017, leading to fans and the media talking about what might be happening with her. Kylie returned to social media in February with a post announcing the birth of her baby.
Royal Fever
2018 was a big year for the British royal family, with the birth of the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge's third child and two weddings. On April 24th, Catherine gave birth to her third child and second son, Prince Louis Arthur Charles and a month later, Prince Harry married American actress Meghan Markle in St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle. They are now known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Princess Eugenie married Jack Brooksbank there in October. Harry and Meghan toured Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand and a few hours after arriving in Sydney, they announced that they are expecting a baby.
The world sadly lost some big stars this year - musicians Avicii, Aretha Franklin, and Mac Miller, fashion designer Kate Spade, actor, director and producer Burt Reynolds, comic book legend Stan Lee and Indian actress Sridevi Kapoor.
Amazing songs were released including DBL's single Another Round and EP Island Vibez, Little Mix's Woman Like Me, Jakob Delgado's Hopelessly and Ariana Grande's Thank U, Next. Check out the reviews I wrote on this blog for the first three mentioned.
