Thank You In Stereo

Hello!

After being quiet and inactive on social media for months, Australian boy band Instereo announced that they were parting ways to pursue different things yesterday. Now there are a lot of heartbroken fans who have shed tears and posted messages of love and support on Instagram. I have been a fan of In Stereo, as they were originally known, since they were on The X Factor in 2015 and have seen them perform live and met them many times. I have also written about them, their music and shows here on the blog and had the chance to interview Chris and Jakob last December.

Now, I will tell you a little about my experience as a 'Stereonator.'

1. Watched In Stereo on The X Factor in 2015 and voted for them a lot. I was in the audience for their final live show.

2. Met In Stereo for the first time the day
They were voted off The X Factor. I arrived at the channel 7 studios where they were doing interviews very early in the morning and waited a few hours to see them and give them cards.

3. Jakob sent me a sweet DM and followed me later that day.

4. Made a fan account @stereonators.helper on Instagram.

5. Jakob unfollowed me which made me quite sad.

6. Saw them at Westfield Burwood during Dolly's shopping centre tour. I was too nervous to go up and meet them so a lovely girl got the EP signed for me.

7. Watched them perform and met them again  at the Hyde Park noodle markets and actually had a conversation! I talked to Jakob about him unfollowing me and got my first and only hug from Chris. I didn't meet Ethan because I had to leave in a hurry.

8. Gave gifts to the families at the Aria sideshow. I hope they appreciated the thought.

9. Went to the Summer Party with a fractured foot. I met all the boys and gave them each a little book I had written. I met my good friend Logan there too, he is so nice!

10. Travelled to Adelaide to visit family and was surprised with a ticket to the summer party show there. After the show, there was a little misunderstanding between me and Jakob's dad Leo over a taxi.

11. At the Bring It On Festival, I livestreamed In Stereo and Yours Truly's performances for the fans at home and met Mikaila for the first time.

12. I was able to go to Amplify, thanks to a lovely friend.

13. Made two new friends, Tegan and Lily, at Teen Vibes

14. The Strathfield Spring Festival was the last time I saw In Stereo as a band of three.

15. I had the chance to interview Chris and Jakob for the blog.

16. Chris and Jakob did a surprise performance at Forever Ends Here's farewell concert, the first and last time they performed live as Instereo. That was the last time I met them.

We have all had different experiences as fans. There are moments I want to forget but so many others which were amazing and I will remember forever and smile when I look back. One regret I have is not making more of an effort to talk to Ethan at meet and greets. When he left I was so upset. I hope he knows I care about him and support him just like the others.

Thank you to the families for being so lovely and helpful to the fans. I hope to see you all again soon!

In Stereo/Instereo, thank you for creating wonderful musical and making so many people happy. We, your loving fans, will continue to support you, no matter what you choose to do next and will be with you every step of the way. As you said, this is not the end, it's a new beginning! All three of you are talented and have bright futures. I will continue to support you like I have been for the past three years. Chris, Jakob and Ethan, I love you.

Vishi xoxo

Virtual Stop #1: Lymington - A Seaside Gem Discovered by Chance

Welcome to my virtual travel series, where I explore beautiful corners of the world without leaving my bed. Inspired by TikTok livestreamers and walking tour videos, these posts capture what I see, feel and learn as I journey through new places from afar.  I wasn't planning to visit Lymington - not virtually, not in any way. I had never heard of it before watching my favorite singing buskers livestream from the quaint little town in the UK and now I'm captivated. The charm of Lymington unfolded before my eyes: Cobbled pathways, rows of boats bobbing gently at the marina and friendly locals to stop and enjoy the music. I experienced it from my bed.  There is something so welcoming about the town, The people passing by weren't just polite - they were supportive. Some clapped, others left kind words or a few coins, and a few even stayed for songs. There are three ladies who go often to support the guys. They have all been following them on TikTok for a while and met each other...

The Prove It Game

The public opinions on Meghan Markle, or Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are divided. Some love her and most seem to hate her. I admire her in some ways. I just watched an interview she did with podcast host Jamie Kern Lima and something she said resonated with me.  Image from Jamie Kern Lima YouTube.  Here it is: "We spend so much of our lives trying to prove something. You have to prove that you're enough, you have to prove that you're pretty enough, you have to prove that you're smart enough, you have to prove that you're a good wife or a good friend, and I am just so done with the prove it game. When you get to the place where you feel like I don't have to prove anything to you anymore. I don't have to prove that I'm a good person, I don't have to prove that I'm a good wife or mum or friend, I don't have to prove that I work hard. It can be really freeing when you stop playing the prove it game." - Meghan Markle. I completely agree with...

Social Media Ban

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said that the Australian Government will enact laws to ban children under 16 years of age from social media and here I am sharing my thoughts on this.  Image from The Chapel Hairdressers - Horsham Facebook page  There are many benefits of social media. We can share photos and videos with our families and friends to keep them updated on our lives, instantly communicate with them, have a record of special memories, businesses can promote their products and services, connect with people professionally and do so much more. So many people are working on social media full time as influencers, working with brands and creating content online  and some have even married people they met online.  Social media can also be used as a weapon.   Preteens and teenagers go through puberty, stress about getting good grades at school, do their best to live up to their parents expectations, have many things they are worried about and just wan...
