Hello!
I love to read. It's one of my favourite things to do in my free time. I can spend hours reading and if the book is really interesting, I can finish it very fast. In this post, I am going to tell you about some of my favourite books and ones I have read recently.
L.A. Candy by Lauren Conrad - Written by television personality, fashion designer and author Lauren Conrad, this story is about teenagers Jane Roberts and her best friend Scarlett who are approached by a TV producer to star in his new reality show. They excitedly except the offer and Jane becomes very famous and a hot star but soon discovers the ups and downs of fame.
The Intern by Gabrielle Tozer - Josie Browning dreams of having a perfect academic record, an amazing career in Journalism and for her crush to notice her but she has one problem, she always embarrasses herself, her little sister and her best friend. She soon gets lucky when she lands an internship at a magazine. Josie wants the columnist job on offer at the magazine but quickly learns it won't be easy. This internship, which involves smaller tasks such as photocopying and fetching coffee and big tasks such as interviewing celebrities and getting by-lines, is one Josie will never forget.
Choosing Hope by Kaitlin Roig-Debellis - On 14 December 2012, a 20-year-old man shot and killed 20 first-grade children and six staff members at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. Kaitlin Roig-Debellis, who was a first-grade teacher there, saved her entire class of fifteen children, aged six and seven by piling them into a tiny bathroom inside her classroom which was very close to where the brutal massacre was taking place. She gives a firsthand account of what happened on that tragic day. This is a story of courage, heroism, faith and resilience.
Seriously ... I'm Kidding by Ellen DeGeneres - Comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres gives very useful advice about various aspects of life in her humorous way. She talks about being grateful for your family, taking care of your health, meditation, social skills and things she has learnt throughout her career.
Courage to Soar by Simone Biles - Simone Biles is the most decorated American gymnast, having won a combined total of nineteen Olympic and World Championship medals. She was part of the gold medal-winning team, the "Final Five", at the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janeiro. In this book, Simone talks about her life from being in foster care and being adopted by her grandparents to visiting a gym for a daycare field trip and going to the Olympics. It's a very inspirational story.
