Amazing Australian Musicians

Hello!

In this post, I am going to tell you about some amazing Australian musicians and bands.

Justice Crew - A dance and pop music group that won Australia's Got Talent in 2010. They have
done and achieved so much these past seven years. Boom Boom was their first number-one single and Que Sera was their second. They have toured with international artists Chris Brown, Janet Jackson, One Direction, Kesha and Pitbull and have been nominated for eight ARIA Awards. They have embarked on four of their own tours. I went to their Hype Tour in 2014, it was awesome! A few of the original members have left but the group are still doing well.

Delta Goodrem - Delta rose to fame in 2002 when she played a shy school girl, Nina Tucker, in Neighbours and ventured into music when she was 15 years old. She was signed to Sony Music and released her debut album Innocent Eyes which topped the ARIA Album Chart for 29 weeks. She has had nine number-one singles and 17 top-ten hits on the ARIA Singles Chart. Delta has won three World Music Awards, nine ARIA Music Award, an MTV Video Music Award and several others. I saw her live on her Believe Again Tour in 2009, the show was so good and I hope to see her perform again! She will play Olivia Newton-John in the 2018 miniseries Hopelessly Devoted To You.

Trent Bell - Trent auditioned for the fourth season of The X Factor and was  put into a group called The Collective. The group split up in 2015 to pursue solo careers and since then, Trent has been working very hard writing, producing and recording music. His debut single Limitless was released on iTunes in April last year. In April and May this year, he embarked on a tour of the Eastern states of Australia to promote the single, which has been played on radio stations all over the country.

Jessica Mauboy - Jessica was the runner up on Australian Idol in 2006 and was signed to Sony Music. She is one of Australia's most successful female artists, with five top-ten albums and sixteen top-twenty single. She has been nominated for 24 ARIA Music Awards and won two and has collaborated with international artists Flo Rida, Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Jay Sean and Pitbull. Jessica plays the lead role in the drama series The Secret Daughter.

In Stereo - A three-piece band from Sydney with members Ethan Karpathy, Jakob Delgado and Chris Lanzon. They are "Australia's biggest boy band." The boys have released a single and three EP's, the latest one Day In Day Out was released in July and the music video for Let Me Show You was released on November 24. They are currently working on new music.

Tash Sings - Tash is a singer and song writer who I only just started following on Instagram. She has a song out on Spotify and Apple Music called I Don't Like Parties and the video premiered on [V] Hits. Both the song and video are really good!

Fletcher Pilon - Fletcher is an acoustic singer and songwriter who has appeared on a few TV shows such as The Voice Kids, Nickelodeon SlimeFest and BalconyTVSyndey. He released his first EP, Banjo, on iTunes in December 2015. The EP includes a song called Infinite Child which he wrote in honour of his brother Banjo, who sadly died in 2015. Fletcher auditioned for Australia's Got Talent in 2016 with Infinite Child and made it through to the grand final. He received positive comments from the judges and the most amount of votes which lead him to win and receive the cash prize. Fletcher writes his own songs and released a single Water in February this year. Fletcher is a talented young man who, to me, looks a little like Heath Ledger. He is an incredible guitar player. I really hope I can see him perform live one day soon!

Yours Truly - A pop-punk band from Sydney consisting of members Mikaila Delgado, Jack Hanlon, Jack Hermann and Teddie Winter-Haron. The band released their debut EP, Too Late For Apologies, in March this year and supported Tonight Alive on their Back To Beginnings Tour. I have seen them perform twice, recently at the Bring It On Festival in April. These guys are amazing!

The Lazy Eyes - A rock band of four members from Sydney. Since forming in 2016 and have since played many shows around Sydney. I have seen them play live twice now, they are crazy good! Now I'm looking forward to them releasing an EP!

You all should check out these amazing musicians and go see them perform live if you get the chance. Trust me, you won't regret it!

Vishi xoxo

Virtual Stop #1: Lymington - A Seaside Gem Discovered by Chance

Welcome to my virtual travel series, where I explore beautiful corners of the world without leaving my bed. Inspired by TikTok livestreamers and walking tour videos, these posts capture what I see, feel and learn as I journey through new places from afar.  I wasn't planning to visit Lymington - not virtually, not in any way. I had never heard of it before watching my favorite singing buskers livestream from the quaint little town in the UK and now I'm captivated. The charm of Lymington unfolded before my eyes: Cobbled pathways, rows of boats bobbing gently at the marina and friendly locals to stop and enjoy the music. I experienced it from my bed.  There is something so welcoming about the town, The people passing by weren't just polite - they were supportive. Some clapped, others left kind words or a few coins, and a few even stayed for songs. There are three ladies who go often to support the guys. They have all been following them on TikTok for a while and met each other...

The Prove It Game

The public opinions on Meghan Markle, or Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are divided. Some love her and most seem to hate her. I admire her in some ways. I just watched an interview she did with podcast host Jamie Kern Lima and something she said resonated with me.  Image from Jamie Kern Lima YouTube.  Here it is: "We spend so much of our lives trying to prove something. You have to prove that you're enough, you have to prove that you're pretty enough, you have to prove that you're smart enough, you have to prove that you're a good wife or a good friend, and I am just so done with the prove it game. When you get to the place where you feel like I don't have to prove anything to you anymore. I don't have to prove that I'm a good person, I don't have to prove that I'm a good wife or mum or friend, I don't have to prove that I work hard. It can be really freeing when you stop playing the prove it game." - Meghan Markle. I completely agree with...

Social Media Ban

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said that the Australian Government will enact laws to ban children under 16 years of age from social media and here I am sharing my thoughts on this.  Image from The Chapel Hairdressers - Horsham Facebook page  There are many benefits of social media. We can share photos and videos with our families and friends to keep them updated on our lives, instantly communicate with them, have a record of special memories, businesses can promote their products and services, connect with people professionally and do so much more. So many people are working on social media full time as influencers, working with brands and creating content online  and some have even married people they met online.  Social media can also be used as a weapon.   Preteens and teenagers go through puberty, stress about getting good grades at school, do their best to live up to their parents expectations, have many things they are worried about and just wan...
