Strathfield Spring Festival

Hi everyone!

Last Saturday I went to the Strathfield Spring Festival which is held every year to celebrate the start of Spring. It is a fun day out for all ages and has great stalls, food, rides and performers. This year, the main act were In Stereo.

I will share some highlights and things that happened during the day.

I left home early in the morning because I had to go somewhere else first and it was very cold so I wore a jumper. Big mistake! It ended up being a hot day and I was uncomfortable. I rolled my sleeves up as much as possible!

I caught a shuttle bus from Strathfield Station to the park and arrived at around 10.30am. I met up with my friend Lily who I had met at Teen Vibes in July. We sat at one of the tables and had a chat. Later, we were hungry so we walked around to see what food was on offer and decided on hot chips. We bought a box each and went back to the table to eat.

While we were sitting there, we found our friend Tegan and met her friend Maddy. We talked about the face painting stand. Tegan went to find out if they take requests and they did. Tegan and Maddy got the 'In Stereo' Logo painted on their arms. It looked cool!

We saw Logan and went up to say hello. I absolutely love him! He gave us all a hug and we took photos together and I got a selfie with him. I'm so short so he had to take it for me! Vlado was there and actually photobombed our selfie! One of the girls had eaten a banana and was holding the peel. Logan asked if he could hold it for the photo, funny guy! It's always nice seeing Logan. He always puts a smile on my face.

Maddy, Tegan, Lily and I hung out together all day.We walked around looking at the rides and everything, live streamed on Instagram and enjoyed talking about our favourite guys. Logan was filming people for a video and interviewed us. He had us stand together while one of his friends filmed us. He stood behind him asking us questions like, "Who is your favourite member of In Stereo?" and "How have they helped you?" He also asked us sing one of the songs. I can't sing but it was fun trying. To be honest, I wish I had stayed out and just let the other girls do the interview. I was so awkward, moving my arms around and I probably looked terrible. I don't even remember what I said! Hopefully I didn't embarrass myself or anyone else and ruin the video. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing the video! All of Logan's videos are amazing so I'm sure this will be too. While we were walking around we saw Chris and Jakob walking to the backstage area. The girls ran over to try to meet them but I didn't. I wanted to wait for the meet and greet they were going to do later.

At around 1pm we went to the stage and sat down. The trolls were on stage entertaining the children. They were so cute and The girls and I actually danced along. In Stereo were scheduled to be on stage at 1.30pm so at that time, all the fans stood up and went to the front of the stage but the host, who was dressed as Spiderman, said they would be on later and told the teens to move back so the little kids could enjoy the acts planned for them.

Finally, In Stereo came on stage. They performed a few of their hit songs. They performed so well and had amazing energy, like they always do! The heat didn't stop anyone from dancing along. After the performance, they held a meet and greet. While my friends and I were on stage, we discussed whether we wanted to go one by one or together. I insisted on going by myself because when I'm in a group, I get anxious and don't talk. My previous meetings with In Stereo didn't go very well and this time, I wanted to have a good experience and talk to the boys. When it was my turn, Jakob waved at me as I walked up and I waved back. I told him I love his haircut and I told them that I really enjoyed their performance and Chris said thank you. We took the photo and that was it. I wish I could have had more time to talk to them but at least I said something more than "Hi" and it actually went well this time. Just before leaving, Lily and I talked to Ingrid and Leanne (Chris and Jakob's mothers) They're lovely.

I was so hot and tired when I got home but I had so much fun! I'm looking forward to seeing them all again. Below are some photos of the boys on stage.

Virtual Stop #1: Lymington - A Seaside Gem Discovered by Chance

Welcome to my virtual travel series, where I explore beautiful corners of the world without leaving my bed. Inspired by TikTok livestreamers and walking tour videos, these posts capture what I see, feel and learn as I journey through new places from afar.  I wasn't planning to visit Lymington - not virtually, not in any way. I had never heard of it before watching my favorite singing buskers livestream from the quaint little town in the UK and now I'm captivated. The charm of Lymington unfolded before my eyes: Cobbled pathways, rows of boats bobbing gently at the marina and friendly locals to stop and enjoy the music. I experienced it from my bed.  There is something so welcoming about the town, The people passing by weren't just polite - they were supportive. Some clapped, others left kind words or a few coins, and a few even stayed for songs. There are three ladies who go often to support the guys. They have all been following them on TikTok for a while and met each other...

The Prove It Game

The public opinions on Meghan Markle, or Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are divided. Some love her and most seem to hate her. I admire her in some ways. I just watched an interview she did with podcast host Jamie Kern Lima and something she said resonated with me.  Image from Jamie Kern Lima YouTube.  Here it is: "We spend so much of our lives trying to prove something. You have to prove that you're enough, you have to prove that you're pretty enough, you have to prove that you're smart enough, you have to prove that you're a good wife or a good friend, and I am just so done with the prove it game. When you get to the place where you feel like I don't have to prove anything to you anymore. I don't have to prove that I'm a good person, I don't have to prove that I'm a good wife or mum or friend, I don't have to prove that I work hard. It can be really freeing when you stop playing the prove it game." - Meghan Markle. I completely agree with...

Social Media Ban

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said that the Australian Government will enact laws to ban children under 16 years of age from social media and here I am sharing my thoughts on this.  Image from The Chapel Hairdressers - Horsham Facebook page  There are many benefits of social media. We can share photos and videos with our families and friends to keep them updated on our lives, instantly communicate with them, have a record of special memories, businesses can promote their products and services, connect with people professionally and do so much more. So many people are working on social media full time as influencers, working with brands and creating content online  and some have even married people they met online.  Social media can also be used as a weapon.   Preteens and teenagers go through puberty, stress about getting good grades at school, do their best to live up to their parents expectations, have many things they are worried about and just wan...
