Teen Vibes

Hello!

On July 29th I went to Teen Vibes, a huge lifestyle event for teenagers which was held at Sydney  Olympic Park. I was keen to attend this event because I really wanted to see what it was all about and watch the amazing performers.

I got to the park around 11.30 but wasn't quite sure how to get to the actual venue. I saw another girl looking for it to so we walked together and bumped into a guy who took us there. I showed my ticket to the ladies at the table, had my bag checked by a security guard and went into the hall. I stood at the door for a few minutes looking around and taking it all in and then went further in and had a look at the stalls set up.

Jay Jays had a chill and charge zone where people could charge their phones and have a rest. Jay  Jays team member Ben Gerrans was there along with his friend and fellow photographer Andrew Clements. Fans were able to meet and take photos with them. I didn't meet the guys but, from watching them with other people, I could tell that they were very nice and friendly.

Amazing things happened at the lush stand. They had giveaways and products to make and experience! After seeing what they had to offer, I actually want to go into a lush store, and purchase some products!

There was a make-up stand and an area where people could get their faces painted with glitter. It looked awesome!

People were in front of the stage long before the performances started. When I was walking around the back of the crowd I met two lovely girls named Tegan and Lily, who I had spoken to often but never met before, so I was very happy. We ended up hanging out together all day. I was attending the event alone so I was glad I made friends. We did livestreams on our Instagram accounts to keep ourselves entertained during the breaks between performances and stood near the door where the performers and VIP's were. Every time the door opened, people looked in and tried to catch a glimpse of their favourites. For us, that was In Stereo! It was quite funny! Tegan had made a beautiful poster with pictures and lyrics to one of In Stereo's songs on it. I wish I  had taken a photo of it. Tegan's poster presented us with a great opportunity. I'll tell you about that later.

Vlado's whole performance was so good. My favourite was his cover of Ariana Grande's song, 'Into You." During one of the breaks I met YouTuber Logan for the second time. (The first time was at In Stereo's summer party tour in January). I love him so much! He is genuine, talented and such a good guy. We took a photo and I always laugh looking at it because there is a huge height difference between us! Meeting Logan again was one of the highlights of the day.

Tegan, Lily and I had a little dance at the silent disco. I'm a really bad dancer but it was fun putting on the headphones and dancing with good friends. Throughout the day I met some amazing people and fans - Grace, Charli, Phoebe, Ruby and Olivia. I love them all so much! Thank you girls for coming up to ay hi to me and I hope to see you all again soon.

Later in the afternoon, a lady from Teen Vibes named Cath came out from the backstage room and talked to us. She had seen us standing near the door almost all day and asked us who we were most excited to see but then saw Tegan wearing her In Stereo hat and said, "Oh of course, In Stereo." She said we must be dedicated fans and then saw Tegan's poster. She told us she would try to get us  in to meet In Stereo. I was very excited but more for Tegan and Lily because they had never met the boys before and I had. So we were anxiously waiting and hopeful that we would be allowed in to meet them and we were! When we went in we all said hi and Cath took photos of us on each of our phones. The boys signed Tegan's poster (I filmed it). I quickly grabbed Jakob to take a photo before we were rushed out. I wish we had more time so I could have talked to the boys and taken photos with all of them but I'm still so grateful for the opportunity. Thank you so much Cath!

We then went and stood on the stage. For the first time, I saw the Fisher Boys perform and they were amazing! At one point they were all playing drums which was my favourite moment of their set. I'm definitely going to try to go to their next concert!

The last performers of the night were In Stereo, They sang a few songs including Girlfriend, Dear Diary, Like You and Let Me Show You. As always, they performed very well. I enjoyed it.

Virtual Stop #1: Lymington - A Seaside Gem Discovered by Chance

Welcome to my virtual travel series, where I explore beautiful corners of the world without leaving my bed. Inspired by TikTok livestreamers and walking tour videos, these posts capture what I see, feel and learn as I journey through new places from afar.  I wasn't planning to visit Lymington - not virtually, not in any way. I had never heard of it before watching my favorite singing buskers livestream from the quaint little town in the UK and now I'm captivated. The charm of Lymington unfolded before my eyes: Cobbled pathways, rows of boats bobbing gently at the marina and friendly locals to stop and enjoy the music. I experienced it from my bed.  There is something so welcoming about the town, The people passing by weren't just polite - they were supportive. Some clapped, others left kind words or a few coins, and a few even stayed for songs. There are three ladies who go often to support the guys. They have all been following them on TikTok for a while and met each other...

The Prove It Game

The public opinions on Meghan Markle, or Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are divided. Some love her and most seem to hate her. I admire her in some ways. I just watched an interview she did with podcast host Jamie Kern Lima and something she said resonated with me.  Image from Jamie Kern Lima YouTube.  Here it is: "We spend so much of our lives trying to prove something. You have to prove that you're enough, you have to prove that you're pretty enough, you have to prove that you're smart enough, you have to prove that you're a good wife or a good friend, and I am just so done with the prove it game. When you get to the place where you feel like I don't have to prove anything to you anymore. I don't have to prove that I'm a good person, I don't have to prove that I'm a good wife or mum or friend, I don't have to prove that I work hard. It can be really freeing when you stop playing the prove it game." - Meghan Markle. I completely agree with...

Social Media Ban

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said that the Australian Government will enact laws to ban children under 16 years of age from social media and here I am sharing my thoughts on this.  Image from The Chapel Hairdressers - Horsham Facebook page  There are many benefits of social media. We can share photos and videos with our families and friends to keep them updated on our lives, instantly communicate with them, have a record of special memories, businesses can promote their products and services, connect with people professionally and do so much more. So many people are working on social media full time as influencers, working with brands and creating content online  and some have even married people they met online.  Social media can also be used as a weapon.   Preteens and teenagers go through puberty, stress about getting good grades at school, do their best to live up to their parents expectations, have many things they are worried about and just wan...
