In Stereo Day In Day Out EP Launch Show

Australia's biggest boyband right now, In Stereo played a show at Oxford Art Factory in Sydney on July 10 to launch their new EP, Day In, Day Out.

I have been a fan of this three-piece band, consisting of Chris Lanzon, Jakob Delgado and Ethan Karpathy, since their audition on the X Factor Australia in 2015 and after attending quite a few of their shows and seeing the positive responses they get, my expectations for this show were high.
I had already set myself up for a great day and knew I would enjoy the performance but it ended up being the best one I have been to!

The show began with the supporting act, Marcelo, a young singer/songwriter from Sydney who has supported Conrad Sewell, Taylor Henderson and Little Sea on their respective tours. He started the show on a calm, joyous note. Dressed in a white sleeveless top and black jeans, Marcelo belted out five songs, Won't, Reckless, Hide and Seek, Go and Skin and Bones. Between each song, he took a moment to talk to the audience and tell them a little about his past and how he got signed to an American recording company. I for one did not know much about Marcelo at all so it gave me a chance to get to know him. The audience swayed and sang along to his beautiful sounds.

Marcelo performed for half an hour and there was a short intermission before In Stereo came on. While we were waiting, people were singing along to the cool music playing and I really enjoyed hearing it. I think it created a really nice atmosphere.

At 2.30pm, the familiar introduction to In Stereo's set started. I have heard it twice before, at the Bring It On Festival and Amplify, and I love it. Images of the boys floated across the screen at the back of the stage and the cover of their EP was launched up like a rocket to what I call "space music." Their EP was literally launched! Chris, Jakob and Ethan arrived on stage and the crowd erupted into screams and cheers! The set started with their very catchy track Girlfriend. For the first half of the set, the boys performed songs from their previous EP The Speed of Sound including MYDLM, Good Enough, Dear Diary, 2am and their very first single Honest. I was watching from right at the back and the lighting on the stage combined with the lights from people's phones made everything look so good. One of my favourite performances of the day was their cover of 'Attention' by Charlie Puth. (Head to my YouTube channel, life with Vishi, to see a video)

The second half of the set included songs from Day In, Day Out which the boys have been working on for months and fans have been eagerly waiting for. They performed Not Around, Don't Wanna Go Home, Let Me Show You, Never Felt This Good and Like You. They got the audience involved in Let Me Show You with a battle between Chris and Ethan to see which of their sides could be the loudest. Chris' side was asked to sing "Ooooooh" and Ethan's side was asked to sing "Na Na Na Na." Both sides were very loud! That was another one of my favourites. Chris played a solo on his guitar in 'Not Around' and it was amazing! Ethan was also playing guitar and I actually smile seeing them strum away on it, it's so cool! I love the way Jakob encourages everyone to sing along and be as loud as they can. At one point during a song, he leaned out towards the audience, pointed to his ear listening to them sing on their own and when they weren't loud enough he said, "No no, no, come on!" He just wants everyone to have a good time, they all do!

The boys were jumping up and down excitedly and looked so happy, I think it's the happiest I have ever seen them. Every time I see In Stereo perform, I can tell that they have worked extremely hard and are passionate about their music. Everyone in the audience was pumped up and singing and dancing along. Even I had a little dance! It was nice to see the boys' friends and other performers there supporting them. Looking at them, I thought wow, it seems like just yesterday when I saw them on TV as 14 year olds auditioning for the X Factor and now they've grown up, achieved so much and taken a mature approach with this new EP. It has received positive reviews and all their hard work has paid off.

This was a great way to start the week. In Stereo put on a great show and they should be very proud of themselves. I am very happy for them. Thank you boys, for creating wonderful songs and making us all happy.
Vishi xoxo

Virtual Stop #1: Lymington - A Seaside Gem Discovered by Chance

Welcome to my virtual travel series, where I explore beautiful corners of the world without leaving my bed. Inspired by TikTok livestreamers and walking tour videos, these posts capture what I see, feel and learn as I journey through new places from afar.  I wasn't planning to visit Lymington - not virtually, not in any way. I had never heard of it before watching my favorite singing buskers livestream from the quaint little town in the UK and now I'm captivated. The charm of Lymington unfolded before my eyes: Cobbled pathways, rows of boats bobbing gently at the marina and friendly locals to stop and enjoy the music. I experienced it from my bed.  There is something so welcoming about the town, The people passing by weren't just polite - they were supportive. Some clapped, others left kind words or a few coins, and a few even stayed for songs. There are three ladies who go often to support the guys. They have all been following them on TikTok for a while and met each other...

The Prove It Game

The public opinions on Meghan Markle, or Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are divided. Some love her and most seem to hate her. I admire her in some ways. I just watched an interview she did with podcast host Jamie Kern Lima and something she said resonated with me.  Image from Jamie Kern Lima YouTube.  Here it is: "We spend so much of our lives trying to prove something. You have to prove that you're enough, you have to prove that you're pretty enough, you have to prove that you're smart enough, you have to prove that you're a good wife or a good friend, and I am just so done with the prove it game. When you get to the place where you feel like I don't have to prove anything to you anymore. I don't have to prove that I'm a good person, I don't have to prove that I'm a good wife or mum or friend, I don't have to prove that I work hard. It can be really freeing when you stop playing the prove it game." - Meghan Markle. I completely agree with...

Social Media Ban

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said that the Australian Government will enact laws to ban children under 16 years of age from social media and here I am sharing my thoughts on this.  Image from The Chapel Hairdressers - Horsham Facebook page  There are many benefits of social media. We can share photos and videos with our families and friends to keep them updated on our lives, instantly communicate with them, have a record of special memories, businesses can promote their products and services, connect with people professionally and do so much more. So many people are working on social media full time as influencers, working with brands and creating content online  and some have even married people they met online.  Social media can also be used as a weapon.   Preteens and teenagers go through puberty, stress about getting good grades at school, do their best to live up to their parents expectations, have many things they are worried about and just wan...
