Bring It On festival & Amplify

Hello,

Last Sunday 9th April I went to the Bring It On festival, which for those who don't know, is part of Fairfield City Council's National Youth Week program and attracts more than 10,000 people each year. I have always wanted to go but have never been able to until now. There was an amazing line up of performers including Yours Truly, pop punk band and Vlado, The Fisher Boys and In Stereo all former contestants on the X Factor.

I caught the train to Cabramatta station and my friend picked me up and we went to Fairfield Showground together. We arrived at about 10.30am and sat in front of the main stage where Dylan Rass was performing. At that point there were not too many people and I felt very relaxed listening to the music and after a while my friend and I decided to go for a walk and look at what else the festival had to offer. There were many different stalls selling food and drinks, knick knacks and show bags as well as rides and games. We did a short survey which allowed us to take photos in a photo booth. We had fun making funny faces for the camera and had a good laugh when we saw the prints.

We went back to our seats just in time to see Yours Truly perform. The first time I saw this band perform was in 2015 and they have grown as a band and had success with new songs and a music video. It is fronted by Mikaila Delgado as the lead singer and includes Jack Hanlon, Teddie, Lachlan Cronin and Jack Hermann. I livestreamed their performance on Instagram for friends and other fans who could not make it to the festival. It was amazing, Mikaila has such a powerful, beautiful voice and they are all so passionate. It was like being at a mini rock concert with everyone dancing and jamming to the music.

The crowd increased just as In Stereo were due to be on stage which didn't surprise me. Their fandom continues to grow as they become more and more successful. At 4pm they hit the stage, beginning with their song 'Good Enough.' Once again I livestreamed almost the whole performance. They performed Messed Up Weekend, Perfect 10, MYDLM, Good Time and my favourite, Dear Diary, during which I shed a little tear because it is such an emotional song. I know a few other people cried too and I saw a few hugging as they watched and sang along. Ethan, Chris and Jakob were definitely the highlight of the day. Below is a video I recorded of them.

On Saturday I went to Amplify's Cool For Summer festival where some of the biggest music and social media stars came together, I hadn't planned on going, I was just meeting up with friends before the show but one of the girls friends did not show up so instead of letting the ticket go to waste, it was given to me. We were general admission so were allowed to sit anywhere so we sat on the left side of the stage towards the back. The performers this year were Take Two, Kid Zro, Tom Jay Williams, Marcelo, In Stereo, Nash Grier and Friends, Tyde Levi, Mashd N Kutcher, William Singe, Dan & Phil, Tana Mongeau and Lindsey Sterling.

In Stereo performed the same songs as the Bring It On festival. I loved the introduction to their performance, in which a few people say "In Stereo", a line of each song is played and then a male voice counts down from ten. You can hear it in the video below. They were amazing as always.

I was most looking forward to seeing William Singe. I have been a fan of him since he was in the band The Collective and met him a couple of times. He is so cool and such a nice guy. He has been on a massive tour of America and is a huge success now. I wish I could have met him. Hopefully I can see him in concert next time he has one in Sydney.

Will Singe

It was a fun-filled two weekends for me. You can see more videos from the Bring It on Festival and Amplify on my YouTube Channel @lifewithvishi.

Happy Easter to you all!

Virtual Stop #1: Lymington - A Seaside Gem Discovered by Chance

Welcome to my virtual travel series, where I explore beautiful corners of the world without leaving my bed. Inspired by TikTok livestreamers and walking tour videos, these posts capture what I see, feel and learn as I journey through new places from afar.  I wasn't planning to visit Lymington - not virtually, not in any way. I had never heard of it before watching my favorite singing buskers livestream from the quaint little town in the UK and now I'm captivated. The charm of Lymington unfolded before my eyes: Cobbled pathways, rows of boats bobbing gently at the marina and friendly locals to stop and enjoy the music. I experienced it from my bed.  There is something so welcoming about the town, The people passing by weren't just polite - they were supportive. Some clapped, others left kind words or a few coins, and a few even stayed for songs. There are three ladies who go often to support the guys. They have all been following them on TikTok for a while and met each other...

The Prove It Game

The public opinions on Meghan Markle, or Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are divided. Some love her and most seem to hate her. I admire her in some ways. I just watched an interview she did with podcast host Jamie Kern Lima and something she said resonated with me.  Image from Jamie Kern Lima YouTube.  Here it is: "We spend so much of our lives trying to prove something. You have to prove that you're enough, you have to prove that you're pretty enough, you have to prove that you're smart enough, you have to prove that you're a good wife or a good friend, and I am just so done with the prove it game. When you get to the place where you feel like I don't have to prove anything to you anymore. I don't have to prove that I'm a good person, I don't have to prove that I'm a good wife or mum or friend, I don't have to prove that I work hard. It can be really freeing when you stop playing the prove it game." - Meghan Markle. I completely agree with...

Social Media Ban

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said that the Australian Government will enact laws to ban children under 16 years of age from social media and here I am sharing my thoughts on this.  Image from The Chapel Hairdressers - Horsham Facebook page  There are many benefits of social media. We can share photos and videos with our families and friends to keep them updated on our lives, instantly communicate with them, have a record of special memories, businesses can promote their products and services, connect with people professionally and do so much more. So many people are working on social media full time as influencers, working with brands and creating content online  and some have even married people they met online.  Social media can also be used as a weapon.   Preteens and teenagers go through puberty, stress about getting good grades at school, do their best to live up to their parents expectations, have many things they are worried about and just wan...
