February Reads

It's February and I have already finished reading six books! Today, I am going to tell you a little bit about each one of these great books which you could possibly add to your own reading lists.  Get Even by Gretchen McNeil Get Even is about a secret group of girls called Don't Get Mad who take revenge on the bullies at their elite private school. One of their targets is killed and is found with a DGM card in his hands so the girls realize they are not as anonymous as they thought they were and someone wants revenge on them. Pick up this book if you like mysteries. Staying Strong by Lauren Yeates It is very important to look after our mental health, especially during hard times like going through the pandemic. Staying Strong: Finding Inner Peace During Hard Times provides a lot of tips for taking care of ourselves, such as writing a to-do list and putting time into self care. It also includes a 30-day happiness challenge, which I will be doing soon. This is a book I think every...

Jugpreet Bajwa's New Songs

Hello everyone! Last November, I introduced you to an amazing singer named Jugpreet Bajwa and today I want to share the three new songs he has released since then. Meri  Zindagi Ka Khwaab was released in December. I have no idea what the lyrics are saying but it sounds so good and the music video shows beautiful sights in Vancouver, Canada. It makes me want to travel there one day and Jugpreet looks great in it! Watch it here  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZC2P6H69Ks This year started with Tim Tim Tara, with a beautiful song about serving people less fortunate than ourselves and making our limitations become our strength. Jugpreet dedicated it to Baghat Puran Singh, who was an Indian writer and philanthropist. The video is just as heartwarming as the song. The images of beautiful and strong people smiling, dancing and just enjoying life is sure to put a smile on your face. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRNr51b0W2A Jugpreet's latest song came out on Monday. It is called T...

Books for young readers

I have enjoyed reading since I was a child and today I am sharing a few of my favorite books from childhood.  Any book by British author Roald Dahl is good. My personal favorites are Charlie & the Chocolate Factory and Matilda. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory follows the adventures of an eleven-year-old boy named Charlie Bucket who gets the chance to tour Willy Wonka's chocolate factory.  Matilda is the story of Matilda Wormwood, a highly intelligent girl who is emotionally abused and ignored by her parents. They refuse to acknowledge her abilities so she pulls pranks on them to avoid getting frustrated. She befriends her school teacher and watches the very strict principal terrorises the students.   The Babysitters club series by Ann M. Martin is a series about a group of friends - Kristy, Marry Anne, Claudia and Stacey - who run a baby-sitting service in the fictional town of Stoneybrook Connecticut.  English author Enid Blyton has a lot of books which...
