Even though the Olympic games were postponed by a year, are still officially being called Tokyo 2020 for branding purposes because most of the promotional material had already been produced. Miraitowa is the official mascot of the Tokyo Olympics. It's head and body contain contain a blue indigo ichimatsu pattern resembling the emblem. Ichimatsu is a fictional character from a Japenese comedy series. There will be no fans in any of the venues during the games. Channel 7 and 7plus will broadcast the events and with Tokyo being only one hour behind Australian Eastern Standard Time, Australians will be able to see every moment. The opening ceremony will be held at the Japan National Stadium and begin at 9pm AEST on Friday 23rd July. It will be be four hours long. Team Australia will be led by Swimmer Cate Campbell and Basketball player Patty Mills. The theme of the ceremony is Moving Forward. ...
